anythin uphill is good. If it hurts, then you're doing something right.

It hurts so good. You know what motivates me to feel the burn? I just think of what my opponent and competition is doing; cus there's always someone out there training harder than you.

I've been running like a fcukin dog for the past week. I think i clocked in about23 miles for the week. Over the holiday weekend i ran twice a day. No *****.

I need to rest though. Tomorrow (Friday) i ain't doin *****.

****in hell man - twice a day is alot, but you're right about the whole 'someone is always training harder than you' thing.

do you run long distances or do you prefer to keep the running short and strong?

I've always been a sprinter, but i had to adapt for endurance running.

Sometimes when i'm feeling real nutty i run 3 miles and THEN do sprints.

I play soccer or Futbol too. So that might attribute to my gazelle like running.

              Gotta keep training mayne.

my advice is don't kill yourself at first. make sure you warm up a lot and have a good pair of sneakers. otherwise you can get shin splints which are the WORST! they dont heal unless you literally stop running and will only get worse and worst (eventually they can lead to stress fractures).

One poster was talking about slower distance running and then mixing it with shorter, faster running. Thats probably the best advice (running-wise) that you can do. Make sure you hydrate as well. And just start off easy and you will get better and better. Last year while I was in training for the Marine Officer program I would run 3 miles in about 24 minutes. By the end of officer candidate school I was running 3 miles in around 18:30. My 1 mile time was under 6 minutes. Just build up. Goodluck, because running sucks! lol

i may not have any "credentials" or "skills" as a boxer but i was once a prominent streetfighter round my neighbourhood, known as vodka fats (in my prime i was 5''10 and 220 lbs, with a streetfighting record of 36-22)

i did hard time and kicked some serious ass

to improve cardio i mainly used a method known as pig running, i basically committed a petty crime in front of a cop and then ran for it with them chasing me

no streetfighter has ever used roadwork, back when i was 15 i took out a slick mofo known as daisy cool, the local tough cat... i did it weighing at 5''8 and 177 lbs, no roadwork no nothing, snuck up behind the cat and knocked his head in
