Why was Floyd able to move so many gotdang PPV's?

He became the highest paid athlete of the decade with almost no major endorsements unlike almost every other athlete on the list. His money came almost all from his ability to sell PPV buys.

How did he do it? He wasn't the flashiest fighter, not the most articulate, not the most charming. How did he become the richest boxer and possibly athlete in history?

Haters, fighting the right sort of opponents, being one of the best boxers to lace up the gloves, facing tough competition early on in his career... it was a combination of a lot of those things listed.

        Thanks to Mexicans.

5 de Mayo and Sept. 16th.

He knew his people didn’t have the funds so he turned to Mexicans for help. Smart move.

Can’t blame a mans hustle. If my folks stopped buyin Jordan shoes, and started supporting Wilder, Crawford, Spence, then we’d be on top again, na sayin?

It took years of dominance and an ability to sell himself. Broner didn't have enough skill and consistency while Ward didn't have enough charisma.

More than 50% of Floyd’s PPV revenue from the decade came solely from Pacquiao and McGregor.

Have Canelo fight Khabib or Masvidal and see what numbers they do. Canelo didn’t have an industry nemesis like Floyd vs Pac. When he did, he fought GGG in 24 rounds. Not milking a fight for 7 years...

People kept convincing themselves he might lose and they wanted to see it.

Because he was the best fighter of his era and undefeated. Pretty simple.

But most important - he had that “It” factor. Something you can’t explain, but for whatever reason, makes you want to watch him.
