Doesn't he have a kickboxing background?

I just watched some highlights of him, and you know what - he sort of reminds me of a more powerful, but slower version of Tyson Fury.

I draw that comparison because he has such an awkward, diverse array of shot selections, and he can fight very well on both the outside and inside (although he's definitely NOT an outside boxer, but he knows how to work his way behind a jab). He can use leverage against his opponents on the inside EXCELLENTLY. He can generate CRAZY power at such short ranges on the inside. Something that some boxers never learn is the management of distance - and I think he has absolutely mastered that (probably his kickboxing background helped him here).

I think he needs to work on his foot speed a bit, but he's got the angles, and shot selections down pat..

And like you mentioned - his stamina is very impressive, which is another reason he sort of reminds me of a bigger, more powerful, but slower Fury. His stamina allows him to keep firing off combinations.

I agree that as of right now, he beats the Breazeales, Takams, Chisoras, and Charles Martins of the division.

But also like you said - I'm gonna have to see him against a SERIOUS contender like a Pulev, or Dillain Whyte before I rate him as world level ready for the top dogs.
No problem.. I can see what you are saying with fury. Obviously not as good of a outside fighter as fury but His ability to throw a good mix of punches from different angles, and seems to be able to get good force on short punches. He's good at smothering but like you said he's got a good feel for distance.. Seems to always be in range

His feet are a bit slow and has odd footwork sometimes but I think that's from kickboxing for so many years. I would like to see him move quicker but I think he would have to lose some weight for that to happen.

If he beats duhaupas like I think he does u would like him to see what he can do with one of the contenders.. Maybe even Parker who seems to be looking for a fight. It would be in his best interest of he took a couple more fights before he tries wilder, joshua, or povetkin. He's still got some things to tighten up because he can't afford to take clean punches from those type of guys like he does

      Yessuh, yessir!! great synopsis!

he definitely can't afford to eat them shots like he was against Wach - of course he was purposely getting in reckless exchanges with Wach, even goading him on at times - to destroy him psychologically (Wach is decently heavy-handed himself, doe) - when he fights Wilder, Joshua, or Povetkin.

I think the kickboxing is somewhat of a pro, and a con; it definitely seems to help him have a greater understanding of food positioning, and mastering of distance, but it also seems to inhibit him from sliding, and moving quicker, as he's used to plodding more to keep that front leg in position to check/counter/kick, which is obviously completely moot in boxing, but it's gotta be a hard habit to break. And like you said - of course the excess weight he's carrying. I was looking at his past weigh-ins on boxrec, and it appears he's fought as low as 242! Although that was over half-a-decade ago.. Here he was at 275 back in January of 2016; note he's got the very beginning of visible abs!! hahah. Based on this picture, I think his best weight is probably around 258-265ish. But I think he can still be very effective as high as 285, which is what he was around vs Wach. And we'll see how effective he is at 300..

So assuming he gets by Duhaupas, which is definitely no gimme fight, who would you like to see him fight next?

I see you mentioned Parker - I honestly don't like that stylistic matchup for him right now.. Heh, ironically, when I was searching for earlier weigh-in pictures, his manager mentioned Joseph Parker as a target.. But I think Parker might be too sleek for him, as Parker has an incredible gas tank, and chin as well, which would negate Miller's usual advantages he always has.. Plus I doubt Parker's team would want this high-risk/low-reward fight just coming back after that close points loss to Joshua.

But he's gonna have to either sink or swim eventually...

Also - just wanna give ya a huge thanks for shooting ideas back and forth with me too, mate. Lol I know this is a long post, but I just type so fast and can get carried away....

Geez its hard to see him going 12 before gassing.
Being that big must use alot of oxygen to them muscles.

Actually it's kinda the opposite - although he would improve his stamina if he lost some of that excess mass - but he has pretty damn good stamina despite carrying around excess mass.

In fact, I'd say that's one of his best attributes. Still, I think he would be best at around 258-265..

It's usually guys like Joshua, who are very low body fat, but have lots of lean muscle, who gas quickest, because that muscle demands oxygen and blood flow.

Yer right i get it. The more muscular you are the more oxygen you need to them muscles.
Considering Miller has a bit to play with makes it easier for him to stay moving.

Wilder struggled with Duhaupas and stopped him in 11th. It was a difficult fight for him. If Miller stops Duhaupas, he is a real deal.

Nah Povetkin destroyed Duhaupas like nothing in 6 rounds.

Duhaupas doesn't like to be stalked and isn't a counterpuncher.

Styles make fights, and Big Baby brings some huge pressure.

Yes, but if Duhaupas survives 7-8 rounds, fat boy will be in trouble. Fat boy is not Wilder.
