Him not being active is as good reason as any. Also only fighting one journeymen and putting in a poor performance also a good reason

if the WBC rankings for Stiverne/Ortiz were reversed.....
Wilder could fight Ortiz, and Stiverne/Pulev can fight an eliminator

As much as this is a total crock of ****, and both the WBC and Don King should be taken out the back and given a good old fashioned hiding for being corrupt scumbags...I don't blame Stiverne for standing strong here. Regardless of why he's the mando, he is the mando, and he doesn't have to do a damn thing to keep the fans happy. It's his livelihood, and if he wants to get that title shot (or drive up the price for a step aside fee), well damn it he can do that.
No one here, if put in Stiverne's position, would take the stance of "Oh, Wilder v Ortiz is a better fight, so I'll let it happen". Hell no, every single one of us would do what's best for ourselves. We could, should and would maximize it for our own gain.
Direct the hate at Don King and the WBC - Stiverne is just makin' bread.
