Prime Iron Mike versus Joshua or Wilder today

Joshua gets knocked out too, but I could see a war as long as it lasts. Like Tyson vs. Ruddock, but with Joshua getting stopped sooner.
Prime Tyson with his head movement and combination punching/hand speed was pretty damn lethal. Sometimes hard to really place him with some of the comp he faced at his peak and his losses, but at his best, he was devastating.

Originally posted by bluepete View PostWell we are talking about a prime Mike. Neither has a quicker Jab than Tucker or Biggs. And neither has the movement of them two. Buster was a super mobile big man, which neither of them are. Also I would argue that Mike wasn't near he's best with Rooney gone against Buster. Mike handled very tall men like Smith who had big power. Tall durable men like Tucker and Green. Powerful superheavies like Bruno, who was a good fighter who matched Lewis for 6 rounds. And Ruddock, who could box behind a jab and knock men cold. Whereas neither Josh or Deontay have ever see anything like Mike.

Why would you compare an All Time Great vs a total bum? A Guy who hasnt faced anybody and is scared of anybody in the top 5 at his own weight? LOL...jeez. Wilder is nothing and will never beat anybody in his life. Even Haymon knows that, otherwise he would have fought somebody in 40 fights.

6 foot 5 guys like who?. Did they have amateur pedigree like a Bronze or Gold in the Olympics?. Tyson @ 5 ft 9 would get put in a stretcher by both these beasts. It's a different era.
Tucker & Green are pre Super Heavy era. These guys today can do it all no matter what anybody says about "skills". If it was a question of power then I've got more faith in the bigger guys generating more velocity with their shots & catching Tyson than the other way around.
If my Nan had balls she'd be my Grandad. Douglas happened, Rooney parted & Robin took him to the cleaners. Shoulda, coulda, woulda. He is a icon & came before the Internet era, fair dues. Just remember it was easier to sell him as a product & much easier to hype up opponents he was facing. In today's social media era there's no way to hide.
Holmes would look like superman whipping them around the ring.

Lennox Lewis set the blue print with Emmanuel Stewards help. Can anybody name a Super HW that Tyson beat that won anything as an amateur?. They've got nothing on this era.

Gauge distance my ass.
They are too slow to get out of their own way.
AJ has the reaction time of a stop sign....Vlad is worse than that.
Lummox Lewis...pulls straight back into punches...that's what he got blasted by SMALLER journeymen.
