It's just 4 lbs people. He came in at 168.5 on the scales with Britsch. Surely they'll let him rock an IV after. You can't compare Julio's legs to the fatass trainers next to him... look at Marquez. Those are tooth pick calves on a tank torso. They've focused on dieting than the drain. Will His fat loss affect his power? Perhaps.. Chavez Jr. might actually move better for the first time since his debut at 160. Chavez looked good against Lee, and that fat difference vs the Vera fights was apparent. It's not that he ever "grew" out from 160. He just decided to be lazy afterwards and never train hard. His body might be taking a toll, but ironically he's pushing it all for you guys and the fans. That's honorable. In a way, he owes big time to Alvarez for the opportunity. Let's hope to see new things from Nacho we hadn't seen before.

This weight cut probably kills his chances in this fight, but maybe it rejuvenates the rest of his career?

If Chavez jr took care of himself between fights (watched his diet and worked out a bit) he would probably walk around at about 180. Training down 15lbs for a fight is pretty standard.
Chavez's best weight at this stage of his career is probably 168, he's not naturally a thickly muscled guy like Alvarez who is shorter and more bull like.
Both guys have shown the ability to cut a lot of weight 24 hours before a fight and then rehydrate 15lbs or more with no problem.

Chavez can come in at 165.49lbs and be good... Or get hit with $1,000,000 and come in at 166.49? That's only
3.01 lbs left to lose in 10 days left.
Wow. Just read even if Chavez weighed in at 165 he still would have to pay $1 million. Wow, I thought it would be only $500,000 for that. But according to the contract even just half a pound over he has to pay $1 million, wow, that's crazy.
