Are people really taking offense to this? FFS, all Floyd said is that Ali paved the way for fighters like him. It is a compliment and 100% fact. Everything here was classy and respectful.

The sport is dead because no one has the balls to STEP UP. like Ali did.

Instead they all are wannabee floyd buisnessmenboxers.

Not only is there ZERO boxers who have half the testicles he did.
But there Are ZERO boxers / sportsmen who are even HALF the man he was outside the ring.

Mayweather and Ali were both highly skilful fighters that beat the best of their eras. And both of them were hated by a cult of de****able "fans".

The difference is tards didn't have a platform such as NSB, YouTube and Twitter back then to spread ******ation.

You also don't know what the **** you're talking about. Let's leave it at that. Watch some documentaries on Ali and we'll talk again. Nobody is arguing that Ali said controversial things, racist stuff. But again, you can't connect any dots so it's pointless for you to argue any of this. And nobody gives a **** if you're black or white or ****** or ***ish. I'm white and I'm "defending" him. Who cares.

I've been watching a lot of MMA lately and I can see why that sport is thriving while boxing is dying out. Their sport's fanbase have a much greater understanding of martial arts and therefore have a greater appreciation for fighters, especially those who are the best. Boxing fans tend to crap all over their own while MMA fans will praise guys who have even ten losses and who have never won a title.
The difference in knowledge about their respective sports between boxing fans and MMA fans is shocking.

If boxing didn't have a much richer history, MMA would be the far more popular sport.

Actually, yes you are. You're glossing over the FACTS that Ali was a disruptive force in race relations. That can't be disputed. Then you resort to personal attacks. We get it - you love Ali. Take off the rose colored glasses.

Ali has race baited. Floyd has race baited. Holmes has race baited. Tyson has race baited AND been a ****phobe. Pacquiao has made ****phobic comments. Valero was a murderer. Gatti was an abuser and an attempted murderer.

Be consistent. Accept and respect the good AND the bad of each person. Nobody's perfect, and that's all the dude is saying. Don't act like Ali was a saint. He wasn't nor did he say he ever was. Your personal attacks make you look like a child.

Definition of a hypocrite: People ignore all the bad Ali did and focus only on the good, yet they refuse to acknowledge the contributions of people like Michael Jackson, Michael Jordan, Ike Turner, Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Bill Cosby who also have played a positive part in black history.

who was may's foreman? ricky hatton?

                      who was his joe frazier?

please dont attempt to compare the two, and before you accuse me of hating him i appreciate his skill's but not who he is.

People hated Ali because he was a loud, brash, arrogant black man at the time of accepted racism and bigotry.

People dont hate mayweather because of racism, (there may be a couple sure) They hate him because for a multitude of other reason's (some of them more legit than other's) Being a cherrypicking, predmadonna who has no personality or dignity other than ' i love money'.

As i said in another post, they both sort of encapsulate the times we live in, in a weird sort of way.
Nowday's being a shallow, celebrity/money obsessed culture (mayweather)

To back then, A man standing up for what he believes in, to any cost, to try and make the world a better place, whether it be Anti racism, or anti War.

Ali went to Jail for refusing to serve in an unjust bloody massacre of piss poor people on the other side of the world.
Not because he was scared but he knew he was an icon to young black men across the U.S who would of no doubt followed him to Fight.

Mayweather went to jail for beating up his wife infront of his children.
