Akin to hipsters liking ****ty music, sporting disgusting facial hair, & dad bods, in that when a fighter (or band, or restaurant, or movie, or etc...) becomes popular, there is sure to be a faction of dissident humans. GGG could unify the division, then move up, and KO Ward, and people will still say he should've fought Ward a year before (or after he got rid of ring rust).
It happens with anything popular.

YEs. Just like people claiming that Pac would've beaten Floyd years ago in his ''prime'' and without a WADA style testing.
You'll be out of fighters to support should GGG beat Ward
I just noticed that you can see "eye of the tiger management" on the back of David's trunks as he gets his hair knocked up in the air and looks about done
"Eye of the Tiger Managment: Where you, too, can get your ass kicked"
His fans who criticize other fighters level of competition. GGG is a good fighter and has a lot of hype but his accomplishments don't warrant all the hype nor a top 5 p4p spot
His trainer talks out of his azz
GGG on the other hand is a good boy, is good for the sport, has an exciting style and will bring thrills and spills

I'm not a huge fan of floyds style after he moved up in weight and hurt his hands, BUT I'm in agreement with you in that Pac could have met Floyd on any given night, and my money would always be on Floyd.
That said, I could envision a plausible scenario on a given night where Pac edged out a close decision.
With GGG, I just can't see anyone at 160 bothering him at the moment. I'm ready for him to unify and move up comfortably.
The "I don't hate him, I hate his fans" line is so bogus. It's a lie people say to justify hating on fantastically likeable fighters like GGG and Pac. Just admit it that you're fuelled by nationalist/racial bias.
Fans being annoying are just the icing on the cake, they are never the principle reason a fighter is disliked. I don't hate on Mayweather, Broner, Khan because of their fans. I dislike the fighters first - that's what makes their fans insufferable, because you're already hating on the guy they nut-hug.

I am very curious about this too, as we all are. However, I have strong feeling GGG won't move up and his age is getting to him. If age is not a problem then so be it, but if GGG is at 168 by the age of 36 or 37 and losses people will complain about his age.
Instead, now that GGG has more belts the stakes are higher and other elite know this clearly. I want to see GGG face Lee and Korobov, other great Southpaws. Also winner of Quillin or Jacobs.
NOW that GGG has those belts there's opportunity for a long range of defense bouts, and opponents no less than top 2 in whichever belt body. Monroe was ranked 18th at the time...cmon.
