Comments Thread For: Pascal Escapes Defeat, Close Decision Over Gonzalez

Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas - Former light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal (30-3-1, 17KOs) was fortunate to walk away with a close ten round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Yuniesky Gonzalez (16-1, 12KOs) . All three judges had it 96-94 for Pascal. The fans in attendance were very upset at the decision. Most of the press at ringside, and HBO, had Gonzalez winning the fight.

          That rematch is so unnecessary.

With the Kovalev rematch already signed you knew Gonzalez had no shot. Shame bc he fought his ass off and deserved the W. Does anyone really believe a rematch with Kovalev will be any different after that fight?

I had Gonzalez winning by UD. I wasn't scoring but 94-96 the other way would of been about right.

The fight was pretty close but it looked like Gonzalez did just enough to win it, not blatant robbery but wrong decision yes I think so.

Could help Pascal that this happened in Canada but even the crowd booed the decision, sort of says it all.
