"There are several other violations that the lawsuit cites, including alleging that Top Rank improperly acted as Garcia's manager by "arranging Garcia's bouts," "selecting 'in its discretion' the date of each bout", "selecting 'in its discretion' the site of each bout", "determining the financial arrangements of Garcia's bouts", "receiving or being entitled to receive more than ten (10%) percent of Garcia's gross purse as a professional boxer", and "selecting Garcia's opponents.""
Matter of fact, I'm not even going to be disrespectful. Read this lawsuit to learn more about the boxing business.

Most athletes don't know what to do with money and they don't seek professional help because they assume the professionals will rip them off. These guys typically hire one of their friends from back in the day to manage their money and these friends are typically seriously unqualified to handle it.
In terms of the match ups on PBC, well obviously I agree that we should have competitive, great fights especially on major networks. Haymon is ****ing up in that area. He needs to be willing to work with other promoters on a consistent basis so we can have the match ups that we want. He has the platform, he just need to put the right things together.

Are we talking about TR in this thread? I don't see them mentioned in the title and just because one promoter acted shady does not excuse Haymon from his violations of the Ali act by acting as both promoter and manager which the Ali Act was created to prevent.
I guess you are one of those people who get pulled over for speeding and tell the cop that "The other people were driving faster than me." Sorry, but your attempt at misdirection will not work with me.

I got allot of respect for Haymon from everything I've read
Probably because his brother was a boxer , but it seems he actually cares about his fighters and tries to make his boxers have a career and make as much $ as possible and helps them inside and outside of the ring. as opposed to just letting them fight it out and discarding them once they lose.
For me that's the thing is Top Rank probably the best at match making but at the same time I don't think Arum gives a sh.it about his fighters and treats them as commodities or pieces of meat. He might care if your his #1 breadwinner but that's it. But that's probably why TR is good at what they do because they'll sacrifice a fighters career and health for our entertainment and to line his company's pockets
Sometime as a fan it sucks because haymons fighters get maybe a few to many tune-ups or soft touches but honestly I can't even knock it when you look at the bigger picture.
