I didn't watch the fight but let me get this straight....his own corner stopped it and he's complaining cos he thinks he was winning although his own corner doesn't believe it? And then he says he lost cos Fonfara was too heavy and wants the fight at 170? LOL

Nope. Chavez was the one begging his corner to stop the fight. He quit.

This guy is really a moron. "I thought I was winning".... "My strategy was....." From the 5th on, he was train wrecked, cut to shreds, both eyes swollen shut, and wouldn't come out for the 10th... He laid down and quit.... LOL!!! Fonfara didn't have a mark on him, and literally took Chavez out behind the woodshed and gave him the beatdown he has deserved for some time. I'm tired and done hearing anything about this fool or from him. He trained 10 days and smoked weed preparing for Sergio Martinez. He whined and cried Arum was a promoting problem. He trash talked GGG, Canelo, Ward, Kovalev then gets destroyed by Fonfara.... probably didn't train worth a **** for this fight either, can't/won't control his weight, won't listen to his dad, his dad is fed up with him. He just disgraced his family name quitting on his stoll after a pathetic performance.... just a clown.... NEXT.

Lmao like 2 lbs would have made a huge difference. Brian Vera basically beat him in their first fight and that dude got beat by gabe Rosado. I dont believe in triangle theories but there are certainly levels to this shmit and if he figuht life and death with Vera then common se se would tell you he would get beat by fonfara. Chavez should have taken the 15 million guaranteed for 2 fights from arum, now his career is in tatters and he only made a couple milli

Chavez hadnt won two clear rounds, maybe he took a couple of even rounds, but that deduction was shocking by the referee. No warning, Chavez was leading with the head, hitting low and still the only one complaining, rofl.

The moment this crude brawler can't rely on size he gets his ass handed to him first class beat down, not so many more one sided fights there than this one.

Then after the fight when he was being interviewed, he denied that he quit, he blamed his corner for it, he never gave De la Hoya any credit for beating him up and forcing him to quit, and finally, he even almost wanted to punch the translator when he told him in Mexican Spanish slang that he quit, using a word that wasn't really nice, but it was the truth anyhow.

So please check that out. His father did exactly the very same in that fight. He quit on the stool (and he hadn't even been knocked down like his son was). Then he sounded pathetic in the post-fight interview, didn't admit defeat, didn't credit his opponent and finally, wanted to pick a fight with a translator that looked smaller than him and was obviously not a fighter, he was just doing his job. Does that sound familiar to you? Like father, like son!!!

Lol hey easy on the kid! His leg was hurting. Man I didn't have loads of respect for Chavez Jr. He complains to the refs in ALL his fights. He doesn't take his training seriously. And now he quits on his stool and blames it on his leg, thinks he was winning a fight where he was completely being dominated, and wants a rematch with the same guy that battered him at 2 pounds less. News flash, he's a LHW. You're not.

I had respect for him for taking the fight even though it probably wasn't in his best interest. His father didn't have to be a rocket scientist to understand that you don't fight a legitimate LHW after a long layoff. Especially when you've never even fought at 168. I was believing that maybe this guy would finish and retain some dignity. He got up after the knockdown and went and threw some more punches. He just lost a lot of respect.

It's a shame because he has a fan friendly style. He can recover but he better figure it out. We'll see what he's made of. But a rematch at 170 pounds? I swear I never laugh so hard after a fight. I laughed when he said " stop it " then I laughed when he said " I thought I was winning the fight ", then I laughed when he wanted a rematch at 170. Man that dude must be smoking some strong kush.
