Corona and Tecate are both run of the mill commercial beers made to appeal to the masses through advertising. Corona is about the equivalent of Old Milwaukee, Pabst or Coors, low commercial grade barely ok. Tecate is just as bad.
There are a few decent Mexican beers I guess. I liked (the only reason I say liked is it's been years since I drank them here in the Northeast) Dos XX ok and Sol, Negro Modelo too, they are a little better than Corona and Tecate, the Miller and Budweiser or is it Budweiser and Miller of Mexican beers. Or maybe they're the pabst and Stroh's of Mexico. Most craft beers are too hopped up and too malty/sweet. Gotta have a lot of hops to justify the expense I guess. For a regular beer it's Lord Chesterfield Ale, hoppy tang but not overdone, made by "America's oldest brewery", Yuengling.
