    No problem. Roy gets a lot of unjust criticism.

      So predictable.

      You're incapable of having a serious debate.

          It would have been a great fight.

            I wish Roy would've agreed to fight Graciano Rocchigiani and Dariusz Michalzewski - those fights in his prime would've went a long way to answering this question. Even Eubank, Benn, or Mcclellan. Through his prime Roy didn't face any serious power punchers, probably until Tarver.

            I think Kovalev could've got to Roy late. I'll feel better about that it we get to see Kovalev/Ward and Kovalev gets Ward out.

              Basically Jones was a belt collector. He never really wanted to be the real lineal LHW champion. He could then hide behind lame mandatories of which there was plenty.

                I don't think Roch would have done anything for his resume.

                Dariusz was the big one. Although I don't think he was anything really special, and not fighting Roy actually enhanced his profile.

                A fight with Benn would have been great.

                A fight with Gerald would also have been great. Roy missed some great opponents. But some of them weren't viable.

                Eubank openly admitted that he was only interested in defending his belt against mandatories.

                  You're way too harsh on Roy.

                  How can you ignore my previous post to you?

                  Roy wasn't a belt collecter. He beat Toney at SMW, and Liles and Nardiello weren't interested in unifying. He then went to LHW, but after he'd unified, he didn't want to go to Germany to put his three belts on the line against Dariusz's lightly regarded WBO belt. And I don't blame him for that. Not when he'd been robbed in the Olympics and Dariusz had taken a dive to get Roch disqualified.

                  It's easy for you to say what he should have done. Put yourself in his shoes. I wouldn't have gone to Germany to fight for the WBO belt, if I'd got the main belts. Why don't you criticise Dariusz for not going to the States to fight Roy?

                  How exactly was he hiding behind lame mandatories?

                  You can have the links, videos and book excerpts that confirm everything written in my previous post. He tried to fight Liles, Evander, and Hopkins in a rematch.

                    @160 Roy decisions GGG
                    @168 Roy stops Ward
                    @175 Roy decisions Kovalev

                    If Ward survives all 12 rounds and just loses a decision to Kovalev, this will pretty much give a realistic answer to the OP's question.

                      I think Kovalev has a good chin. But is there any evidence to suggest it's granite?
