Originally posted by ADP02 View PostManny called out Floyd, Marquez and Bradley last year and this year. All said no last year. The only one that said yes this year, Manny fought him. All of the above, as you know, were risky fights for Manny.
If Marquez and Floyd would have said that they were interested, Rios and Algieri fights would not have happened as they did. So Rios was Manny's 4th option and Algieri was Manny's 3rd option.
Oscar knew that Manny was fast. Oscar was training for speed. His theory was to come in light so that he would be faster. It back-fired.
You admit that Cotto was a good win.
The point is that Manny has fought enough risky fights to say that your logic is flawed. The only one who avoided risky fights were Floyd. Even when he has the advantage, he tries to get more (CW, gloves, ring, .....)

However I'd rather see him rematch that PR f@ggot and kick his @ss first

Was Manny going to duck Morales? Manny lost to Morales. Did he duck because he was concerned to lose twice? No!
Manny beat and lost to Marquez. So what. It became a huge rivalry. You just don't get it. Ali lost to Frazier, Norton. It made all involved bigger! Gatti lost to Ward, Ward lost to Gatti. So what? It became a huge trilogy.
Floyd wished that he faced Manny and lost to Manny and came back to win twice like Ali did to Frazier. It would have made Floyd better than ducking for 5 years.
Even taking the negotiations out of it. The only ones that have said that they were NOT interested in a fight came from Floyd's camp. Floyd Sr said it. Floyd Jr said it many, many times.
This year: "Does Manny want the fight? Absolutely but I'm not desperate ...." - Floyd

Clearly its not looking like Arum really wants it.

How can anyone defend a dude saying we can't have a fight until an outdoor stadium was built? Did he build that stadium?
How can someone defend a team of someone claiming they are scared of needles and then be on 24/7 getting a tattoo? I don't want to mention him actually taking blood tests after the fact.
For Roach to say this and know the backlash he would get. I personally believe he didn't think pac was on anything and later found out he was. There was a dramatic change in Pac once the heat of testing was on the table. Did anyone look at his legs during the Cotto fight? Cotto was literally teeing off on this man's stomach and he is laughing it off. Roach comes in and says it's great because they had the advantage they needed to win the fight how they wanted. He said the same thing about Oscar and seeing the IV marks in his arms.
Floyd can fight in May, but sorry, Manny can't. Oh wait, Floyd can't fight in May, well that's too bad, cause Manny can. Floyd called Manny and offered him $40M directly and he hung up on him. But Floyd is scared of Manny? How can anyone look at this and come to the conclusion that Floyd just wants to keep running from Manny.
Personal Theory: As Floyd retired, Bob took the opportunity to build up the best boxer possible. Floyd didn't like Bob getting the spotlight due to their past so he took the opportunity to come back and fight AFTER Marquez, a consistent problem for Manny, called him out. Floyd beat him 100 rounds to 0 and folks want to seriously make claims that it was the 2 lb difference in how he won?
The only thing I can say is that Manny has some dedicated fans to deny all of this rhetoric coming from everyone in his camp. Including him, How can you deny a blood test and have people say that's good cause you didn't need it anyway. Do people consider Rios a ***** for having a blood test?Last edited by screwhead1; 12-26-2014, 03:33 AM.
