Floyd could have had a much better shot at being called that had he not "retired" when WW was scorching hot with Williams,Margarito,Cotto,Clottey,Mosely, and eventually Manny coming up shortly after.
You put a win over 2 of those in their prime and his record looks much much better IMO.
I don't care what anyone says, I think Pwill would have given Floyd all he could handle and then some. Tall, long arms, crazy work rate and stamina. He would have been trouble for Floyd.
Great fighter but no where close to "TBE" sorry. But everyone already knows that, it's just a marketing gimmick.

What Mayweather has done, is taken advantage of stepping in with guys who we all know are really NOT THAT GOOD but because of their few wins before stepping in with Mayweather, the dumb fans the boxing media hype these guys up going into the fight with Mayweather, then he knocks them down and expose them all for what they're really are, which is: AVERAGE FIGHTER WITH GOOD PROMOTION!

The major problem with Mayweather Resume is that once he is finish with the fighters most of them end up struggling, losing and/or just falling off the map. His Resume doesn't have any All Time Greats on it.

Fighting Khan or Alexander won't move him up on ATG list, they both have loses and to be 100% HONEST, NEITHER IS ALL THAT GOOD! In Fact I would argue that both Alexander and Khan has UNDERACHIEVED IN THEIR CAREERS if you remember they hype these guys had while fighting at 140. Alexander at one point was compared to Floyd Mayweather and Oscar himself was hyping up Amir Khan!

So to answer the question, for Mayweather, that guy SHOULD BE PACQUIAO! And like I been posting on this forum for awhile now, I think all sides are full of **** when it comes to trying to make that fight happen. Arum don't care for the fight one way or the other because he would have to open his books with another Promotion for the BIGGEST FIGHT IN BOXING. Arum makes more off of Pacquiao fighting Algieri, regardless of the PPV Numbers, that he does working and sharing profit with another Promotion. Mayweather is GREEDY as well, with him knowing the fight would make a ton of money, he wants all of that back end money. So yeah that $40 Million Offer looks great to us common folks but that Back End Money could easily leave Mayweather with Well over $100-$200 Million if it does the Record Shattering PPV Numbers everybody knows it would do. So that $40 Million Offer is actually ***in INSULTING to be honest!
lmao, waiting for the floytards to say, "but, but, thats the most pac will ever make doe"

baldomir was linear champ just like benitez. that makes them equals. duran and mosley were former lightweights so that makes them equals. maidana and hearns were both power punchers but maidana has a better chin so he has the slight edge. floyd gets a bad wrap. quality resume full of greatness.

What is the name of the PRIME, ELITE welterweight fighter that floyd has defeated that makes him "TBE"?
I have to admit, that's a pretty funny question.

Stop confusing flo.mos, they're still looking to explain why he avoided prime SSM/Cotto, Marg, PWill, Pac etc at WW an instead fought a blown up JMM and Hatton, both of whom had never fought above (135 in JMM's case).

The prime ww's at the time-pwill, margs-were never elite. The only prime, elite ww was manny, who refused the fight at the time.
Who in the hell had Mosley over Pacquiao during that time honestly.

floyd fans of course. 40 year old mosley with 1 good win in 10 years while looking like trash is better than pac destroying top guys like cotto and clottey.

gomez beat castillo who beat floyd so you can see why floyd ducked him.
