It's funny how people will gladly point out when Pacquiao has more success with other common opponents but can't do the same with Juan Manuel Marquez. Talk about a double standard... What am I saying, DOUBLE standard is the ONLY standard in the Mayweather/Pacquiao saga.

It's hard to believe that was five years ago. I remember that fight like it was yesterday.
Heres a good copy for anyone who wants to relive that earth shaking night.
Ur blinded by floyds jiz in ur throat. He was expected to win by KO and he won like he wins all his fights, by decision.

I will always say the hardest style for a fighter isn't the opposite style (Outboxer vs Infighter) it's someone that does what you do BETTER than you. Floyd has faster hands, feet and is a better counterpuncher than Marquez. He is better than JMM at what he is best at. JMM would never ever ever beat Floyd, styles make that fight.

I remember this fight well. Floyd's boxing was magnificent.
This is also the fight where Floyd started using Pacquiao's name to help him sell tickets and to help hype his fights. Floyd loves to pretend only Manny does this trick, but Floyd most definitely does it all the time and he invented the concept.
Also, during Floyd's media day workout for the Marquez fight the gym was practically empty and very few media and reporters were there to cover him and the gym was practically empty. Any boxing media professional who attended can confirm this to be true.
However, after Pacquiao defeated Cotto and the demand for Mayweather vs Pacquiao skyrocketed, suddenly Floyd's once empty media day events were suddenly packed and as crowded as Pacquiao's media events and it was obviously all because Floyd had become connected to Manny Pacquiao.
This is all true.

Marquez contracted and was training to make 142 for a 144lb Floyd ..... then Floyd changes the rules, like usual, and comes in at a nice and comfortable 146lbs.
Also, Marquez had just moved up from 130 to 135 and had just a couple of fights there.
Finally, when he fought Manny, Manny came in at about the same weight as Marquez and Marquez used the Floyd experience to better prepare. You can see the difference in Marquez's physique. Post a bit more objectively next time.
