I am not. I didn't even watch it live. It's not like how I eagerly anticipated the Rios/Chavez fight. Cuz was like, "Danny's on tonight". I was like "kool, hand me another dos xx's please".

I don't think a unified or lineal champ has ever faced the 77th or below ranked fighter in the weight division below him ....add to that they changed it to a catchweight.

Overmatched opponents are overmatched opponents. Period. Since the time this fight was announced I killed it. When the fight was over I called it a crime. You can check the record.

Where was this for other fights? You are smart enough to know that most of the criticism from posters is fake and motivated solely by danny's association with haymon and showtime.

Stop disingenuiously hiding behind salka's ranking simply to make it worse. Salka had no business in with danny-thats the same thing we saw with kov and caparello. We knew it before both fights to despite their respective sanctioning body ranks and the weight they fought at previously.

What's really sad is you know what most of this blowback from posters really is but instead of actually giving a damn about overmatched opponents and what happens in those fights you come on to say I look worse because of their ranks. Right.

You knew caparello and salka had the same chance despite their ranking difference.

dude, you sound ridiculous. all mismatches are not equal. that's freaking ridiculous.

salka was a lesser opponent than algieri. both are bad fights. manny vs algieri is a joke mostly because of the fact that it's going to cost $70.

salka is by far the lesser fighter. he's a lesser athlete with lesser skills and a lesser resume. he's also a lot smaller. algieri just beat provodnikov. provodnikov's gotten a little overrated in light of the bradley and alvarado fights, but at least he's been competitive with the best.

salka got into the ring with the best, and he got annihilated.

im a garcia fans and i dont like it at all.

when two fighters are at least reasonably well matched boxing is the greatest thing in the world. but when one guy is that outclassed its not even a sport its just a cruel exhibition of one sided violence.

salka didnt have a chance, i cant enjoy a fight or even a KO under circumstances like that.

however i do feel garcia gets a heap of criticism (rightfully so) while others who do the same thing get nothing but praise for destroying their over matched opponents.

It was a damn disgrace. Salka could of been seriously hurt.

Again. Salka is a LIGHTWEIGHT, he even said in an interview he's likely to go back down to 135. They pushed him into the 140 match, then at 142 CW its a Welterweight match with the weight only benefiting Danny.

Caparello had fought guys with experience at world class level. He fought guys that had fought men like Andre Ward and Antonio Tarver. Who is Salka's best win? Alexei Collado or ex-Manny 'Mexicutioner' Victim and washed up fighter who lost too many in a row to count Emmanuel Lucero?

Kovalev-Caprello and Garcia-Salka are on different levels of 'no chance' for the underdogs.
agree with your first 2 paragraphs.

Your assessment of the Kov fight I disagree with. Who caparello fought previously has no bearing on whether or not he should have been in with Kov or if the fight was a mismatch. You saw the fight, Caparello retreated to the corner and was a sitting duck. He had as much a chance as Salka did, how you can say otherwise I don't know.

There are 2 issues for me. We agree on the issue of should this fight have happened. That discussion has ended. The second issue is overmatched and mismatched fights and posters complaining about them. Why one and not the other.

I agree. It is unfair at this point to consider them the same since they haven't fought and algierei, while having less pro fights than salka, did beat provodnikov and is undefeated. Manny is far superior to Danny so I expect the same.

I agree with this post 100%. Danny being advised by Haymon and fighting on showtime doesn't make this crap any worse than others like it.

Top ten I believe or well... he was definitely ranked.

Not a huge fan of Kovalev but you can't compare those two fights.
Caparello was ranked by the WBO. After watching that fight and watching the Danny fight, did Caparello's ranking suggest he had any more of a chance than Salka?

and the weight class? and the extra weight above the JWW limit?

The other thing is Kovalev couldn't find another opponent, he wanted to fight the best (Stevenson) who ducked out, and he's now fighting Hopkins.

Garcia has the pick of the 140 all wanting to fight him and Salka'd it.

Caparello was undefeated former IBO champion. Salka will never sniff any belt, they couldn't even get the bout sanctioned.

It's just not the same Dunn.
