Is Matthysse vs. Molina FOTY so far?

Lopez vs De Leon 2 could of been an awesome fight if it wasn't for the home cooking stoppage. Before the cries, just fyi I was actually going for Lopez in this fight.

That fight has round of the year and did have some potential, stoppage was borderline. That first knockdown of PDL was sick.


Tonight the fight wasn't just FOTY because of the knockdowns, there were also a lot of toe to toe exchanges where either fighter could be flattened because they both have dynamite in their punches. I remember thinking that these guys were nuts for just going at it like that.

By the fifth or sixth round I sensed this was a special fight that would have a dramatic finish. No doubt this is fight of the year stuff. Matthysse coming from behind being knocked down twice and then knocking down Molina himself and then knocking him out in the 11th was no doubt fight of the year worthy.

There was some drama at the beginning, but it was too one sided for me to be FOTY.

One sided??? You mad bro, Matthysse started winning every round post the 5th on my card but all rounds except 9 and 10 were highly ocmpetitive, with Matt throwing and landing more but Molina countering with some beautiful right hands and hurting/wobbling Matt on numerous occasions. It was a great fight, a beautiful portrait of in ring brutality. It ranks up there alongside Bradley/Provodnikov, Khan/Maidana and JMM/Pac IV as one of the best fights in recent years.

Lucky I got to watch it live there tonight.

Great action and great crowd, A lot of fans of both fighters.
