I laugh at people saying Floyd isn't an All Time Great though. He most definitely is.
He's nowhere near the best ever, or the Top 10.....but he's inside the Top 30 ever IMO. Same with Manny.
And depending on certain guys end their careers, some of Floyd's wins could be looked at even better down the line.
Floyd is held to an unbelievably high standard on here. The only guy that comes to mind where he can fight a Top guy in the weight class, coming off 3 decent/solid wins at the weight, with a title, and be called a cherry pick of a fight.
He's beaten the best or close to it at nearly every weight class.
130: Genaro and Corrales were the best there
135: Castillo was the best there, and the best LW of the era probably
140: Tszyu was the best JWW of his time, but was injured when Floyd moved up there. Then lost to the other best JWW there in Hatton, who wanted nothing to do with Floyd at 140. Floyd would later beat him at 147 anyways while he was Top 10 P4P/undefeated.
147: The best WW of his time were Pacquiao, Cotto, Mosley, and Mayweather himself. Obviously Pac hasn't happened yet for whatever reason. Cotto didn't happen at 147, but did happen while Cotto was past prime-still good at 154 and a top ranked fighter. Mosley did happen while he was Top 3 P4P and seen as one of the best fights to be made in the sport at the time. Floyd had wanted to fight Mosley earlier, but as we know Mosley wanted nothing to do with that. And Pac can still happen.
154: In 2007, Mosley coming off the Vargas win was probably the best there since Winky had moved up to MW, but Oscar was still a good fight there. In 2012 Cotto was the best fight for him at 154, and in 2013 Canelo/Lara are the best fighters at 154, with him beating Canelo who was the RING champion.
So he's more or less beaten most all the top guys at the weight classes when he was there, aside from 140 which really wasn't his fault, and Pacquiao which is probably both guys fault.
