first of all, maidana fights nothing like alvarez and second, people were saying alvarez should have fought mayweather the same way maidana was fighting broner... so what the ****? which is it?

Canelo should have pressed the action in the second half of the fight, I agree with that. He wasn't outboxing Mayweather and he knew he needed a K.O.. He also knew to be much bigger, younger and stronger than Floyd.

It though doesn't mean that brawling is the right way to fight Mayweather, in fact, if Canelo didn't do it is because he knew he would eat a lot of leather by doing so, and the chances of hitting Floyd with something big were rather thin.

Similarly, Maidana will get punched in the mouth if he tries to push the fight, and as most of Floyd's opponents (or Rigo's , another counter puncher) he will likely throw much less than his 1000 punches (against Broner).


Maidana deserves the fight and the paycheck much more than Khan, but he's tailor made for Floyd imo.
