After weeks of intense negotiations, a deal was finally wrapped up for Miguel Cotto (38-4, 31KOs) to pursue his fourth divisional title with a June 7th clash with WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (51-2-2, 28KOs) for WBC belt on June 7. Both camps have officially confirmed that a deal was finalized for the June date, on HBO Pay-Per-View, and taking place at Cotto's second home - New York's Madison Square Garden.

Really looking forward to this fight, major props to Cotto but he has nothing to lose, Martinez has all the pressure on him, I still expect a fit Martinez to destroy Cotto by the 8/9th round.

this fight is just a couple of years too late,i just don't see the big deal of whoever wins this one, martinez is older, beat up,has had injuries and cotto well he's not that old but he's getting up there,he's been in fights where he just got beat up badly,i don't consider cotto or Martinez to be in their primes anymore, the younger stronger fighters are quillin and golovkin,i can see why cotto chose Martinez, like I said he's kind of a beat up fighter and it doesn't help he hasn't fought in a very long time either

Like I stated a month ago, a catchweight and Cotto got whatever he wanted.

Lmao at the 1 pound catchweight, just to let Martinez know who is boss!

Cotto biggest fan, Mr Fantastic, must be excited. Specially after he was telling everyone that Cotto was not going to fight Martinez at all.
