It was a beautiful performance. People had counted out Garcia...for Godsakes dude was Lineal Champ, undefeated, and was just not being giving a chance.

He got in there and worked his magic, and did it without leaving bruised up against a well known power puncher as well.

Yea Lucas would have probably won if his eye didn't close but that shouldn't overshadow Danny's performance, he fought his ass off and edged out the fight simple as that. It's not like the eye closed by itself.

It was a good, close fight. People were disappointed the next day in the actual fight, but I wasn't. Both guys fought really well.
I can see why you say those were his two best rounds but I thought, while watching the fight, that those were his two best rounds because he was getting a bit desperate. I'm not sure how to explain it -- I think he could see Garcia's boxing taking control and so he was trying to up the pressure. I was actually impressed with Matthysse, he showed some nice little wrinkles in his game. But Garcia was a little smarter and also took Matthysse's punches better than Lucas took his.

I thought it was going the way Matthysse's fights usually go. Slow at first, and gradually upping the pace as the fight wears on.

The round when Garcia closed his eye and the two rounds after lost him the fight. He was completely thrown off when it happened. 1-6 and 10-12 were all fought relatively even. Those 3 rounds in the middle screwed him when he couldn't see. If he wins even one of those middle rounds, it's a draw on the scorecards. I know there's no chance of a rematch happening anytime soon, but I'd love to see it. There's a very good chance that Garcia is better and wins easier, but maybe not.

Danny most definitely impressed me, though. He won by doing exactly what I thought he couldn't do. His composure throughout the fight was absolutely tremendous, and his movement and intelligence about when to throw and when to clinch was far above my expectations.

Yep at the bolded. I began seeing his strategy unfold during the third and realized that, unless Matthysse seriously hurt him, Garcia was going to take over. As for the eye swelling thing...it happens. To a lot of boxers. Either you can deal with it or you can't. Matthysse has had that happen to him in other bouts but couldn't handle it against an elite fighter like Garcia. I strongly believe a rematch would be even worse for Lucas. But now is not the time for that -- Garcia has to prep for bigger and better while Matthysse has to work his way back up.

I had the Garcia Matt's fight even when the eye was closed..

There was nothing Alvarez could have done except go all out on Floyd..Which would have got him punch in the face..At the same time I believe he could have landed some really good shots of his on if he'd dared to be great..Not just try to survive, which he did..

Canelo should have kept doubling up to the body, that was nulifying Mayweathers offense. He kept shying away from that. And he looked terribly gassed after 4 rounds.
Yeah, but, what did you see differently from the first viewing?

Related to Canelo's poor stamina, let me say that if Maidana is Floyd's next opponent, he will gas out just like Canelo did. Maidana doesn't have a good conditioning and Floyd knows that, and by that detail he sees Maidana as a beatable foe

Based off of Floyd's last fight, he probably sees EVERYONE as a beatable foe because he is looking virtually invincible. Marcos is slower than Canelo, smaller, weaker. If Floyd is in the pocket walking Canelo down the WHOLE FIGHT, I guarantee you this, he wont use one OUNCE of footwork on Little Marcos. Marcos is a little bitty baby compared to Canelo. I think Floyd is gonna walk him down like Broner did but its gonna be worse, and Floyd is gonna beat tf out of this little dude.

Floyd is not ******, he makes sure he has every advantage going into any fight he thinks is dangerous, or he doesn't take the fight anyway lol.

Two pounds does not a skeleton make. Alvarez weighed 165 at the time of the fight, but that doesn't count in your feeble mind.
