man, the ped testing issue used to be the biggest one. it even spawned into training location, ie, pac not being allowed to train in his own country, floyd sr even suggesting they should hire ost spies in training camps and all that ****** crap.

it turned out to be a tiny issue like many normal people believed in the very beginning. i for one always knew that it's not only about drug testing, it's also about money. who would forget about pbf's $100 million demand floating around just after the second round of negotiations supervised by then hbo exec greenburg?

what's funny is, the pu55y started by saying it's an easy fight, yet here he is demanding tons of money fighting an easy fight.

this guy will finally realized his crap when he turns forty and will be full of regrets.

Mayweather and Pacquiao agree to 50-50 purse split News
      December 5th, 2009

By Manuel Perez: ESPN writer Dan Rafael is reporting that Floyd Mayweather Jr. and World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao have signed a contract for the March 13th bout, and the purse split is going to be 50-50 for the $80 million. Gee, I wonder what happened to Pacquiao and his 60-40?

Thank god Pacquiao came back down to earth and agreed to the 50-50. I personally still think Mayweather should have gotten the most money, but whatever. Rafael says that no location for the bout has been selected yet. 8 oz gloves will be worn. That should benefit Mayweather, the quicker fighter. The best part of the deal is that the fight will be held at 147, rather than another catch weight. That’s good news.

Rafael says that for promotional purposes that the bout will be called “Mayweather-Pacquiao with Mayweather’s name coming before Pacquiao. That makes sense, because Mayweather is the undefeated fighter and the one fighting in his home country. “M comes before “P, so Pacquiao should come after Mayweather in my view. But seriously, Mayweather has been a flawless performer in America for years now and has entertained audiences here for a decade.

I sure wish Pacquiao had fought someone like Timothy Bradley instead of Hatton, and Shane Mosley or Antonio Margarito instead of the recently beaten Cotto. And in place of De La Hoya, I would have liked to have seen Pacquiao fight Paul Williams. He and his management team have been great at match making until now, because he’s been kept out of fights against Bradley, Williams and Mosley for some reason.

Manny hired a auditing firm who Arum fired because they found out he was getting ripped off. The NSAC records payout sheet revealed Manny's guarantees don't support him being a 'Blockbuster' fighter. Manny is upset because the BIR in his country has repeatedly asked him for official documents to verify his tax claims which are inconsistent. Arum refuses to release Manny's numbers going forward. Manny lost to Marquez....

But Manny deseves a 50/50 split with Floyd?

Do you believe Arum is ripping him off, and if so how can you believe the number's he provided the public?

If he's lying to Manny, what makes you believe he's not lying to you?

Like I said, time reveals everything."

I do not understand what the infatuation is with what Pac does with his money. If Pac is being so called screwed by Bob Arum, what does that have to do with making the fight happen or making it a 50/50 split. Pac can give all of his money to Arum if he so chooses, but that doesn't justify Mayweather asking for more money. Pac wasn't the one that said he was in the game for self-preservation, Mayweather said it. Pac wasn't the one that said "I am looking out for myself only", Mayweather said it. Mayweather himself said on video mind you, when he was about to fight Ortiz: "and yes, Pacquiao your next" and then turned around and said that wasn't true. So who is the liar? Any boxing fan can go look up who has done better at selling PPVs and Gate revenue and they can see for themselves it is Pac not Mayweather. So if Pac is doing better, why would Mayweather ask for more money? Pac is the number 1 P4P not Mayweather whether you want to acknowledge it or not. You can say whatever you want about Mayweather beating Pac, and I might be inclined to agree with you to an extent but until it happens know one will know because on fight night, anything can happen, but until it happens its in Mayweather's court to man up and stop being a ***** and a diva.

Source: Pacquiao agrees to 50-50 split
          Updated: December 7, 2009, 12:02 PM ET
          By Dan Rafael | ESPN.com

Manny Pacquiao has signed a contract to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. in boxing's biggest fight on March 13, a source with knowledge of the meeting told ESPN.com on Friday night.

Pacquiao and promotor Bob Arum met for two hours Friday to discuss the proposed deal, according to Pacquiao adviser Michael Koncz, who told The Associated Press that "Manny has some additional requirements, requests, which Arum didn't think was a problem.

"The requests of Manny were so realistic that Arum doesn't feel it's a problem and it's pretty much a done deal," Koncz said.

Later Friday it became a done deal, at least on the Pacquiao side, when he signed the paperwork, the source said.

Mayweather had previously agreed to terms with Golden Boy Promotions, his promoter for the HBO PPV fight, but it was unclear if he had signed a contract.

The source also disclosed other aspects of the fight, which will take place at the welterweight limit of 147 pounds for Pacquiao's title and match the top two fighters in the world, pound-for-pound.

The camps agreed to a 50-50 split of the money, which could be gargantuan. Many experts expect the fight to eclipse the all-time pay-per-view record for sales, which is the 2.44 million buys generated by Mayweather's 2007 victory against Oscar De La Hoya.

Both fighters will wear 8-ounce gloves but each fighter will be allowed to select the brand of gloves he will wear for the fight.

For promotional purposes, the bout will be referred to as Mayweather-Pacquiao, but Top Rank will receive first billing over Golden Boy throughout the promotion.

However, instead of a full-scale media tour, there will only be a single press conference in New York during the second week of January. With the schedule compressed because of the March 13 date for the fight, rather than May 1, which the promoters and HBO PPV preferred, it didn't leave time for a lengthy media tour.

The fight is going to take place March 13 because Pacquiao is running for a congressional seat in the Philippines and the elections are in May, which would have been a conflict between his training and the campaign.

Pacquiao will spend the first half of his training camp in Baguio in the Philippines, where he also trained for the first part of his camp in preparation for his 12th-round knockout victory against Miguel Cotto on Nov. 14. For the final few weeks of his training, Pacquiao and trainer Freddie Roach will relocate to Roach's Wild Card gym in Hollywood, Calif.

The site of the bout has not been finalized. Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has expressed interest in bringing the fight to his new stadium as have representatives from the Superdome in New Orleans. Also in the mix is the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, which has hosted several Pacquiao and Mayweather bouts. Arum has also received a proposal for a 30,000-seat temporary stadium on the Las Vegas Strip across from the Wynn resort.

But the original Micheal Marley article, that was unspecific, just simply "I'll take less money" could obviously be thought of as less of the PPV money.

But, it's confirmed now according to Pacquaio that he didn't mean that so I guess that article is irrelevant.

but in an ideal world they'd just agree the 50/50, get it over with you know..
How can a poor performance lower your stock as far as I know Pacman got the win?

Every heard of Mike Tyson, and Oscar De La Hoya? Pacquiao lost before when he was a semi star and he still drew big numbers of fans.

Arturo Gatti is another example of someone with multiple losses who still had fans.

...And Floyd Needs The Money Worse Than Manny!

Floyd's ego just cost him $50m-$70m. That's all. Floyd seems to thinks Manny needs him for something, and he couldn't be further from the truth. Manny has the best of the best, in their primes, his whole career. Floyd has not; he's mastered the art of hand picking opponents. This just shows you how little confidence Floyd has that he can beat Manny. Pacquiao offered Floyd at 45%/45% split, and the WINNER gets the extra 10%, and Floyd's ass puckered up, he got scared, and told Manny "No Deal". This isn't a business decision on Floyd's part. He knows he can't beat Pacquiao, and he doesn't want to lose the "0". $45m vs $55m, and that doesn't work for you??? If Manny accepted Floyd's offer for $40m, then Floyd would come up with ANOTHER excuse or ridiculous demand, and why the fight CAN'T happen; just like Arum said more than a year ago. Do you think Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, Duran ever let money get in the way of making their mega-fights happen with each other...for a whole lot less money???? NEVER. And that's why they legends and Floyd will never be, no matter undefeated or not. Floyd will be the one to answer those questions for the rest of his life, why he ducked Pacquiao.
