Floyd agreed no problem, and Pac took off. It sucks, but it is what it is.

Mayweather and Pacquiao agree to 50-50 purse split – News
December 5th, 2009
By Manuel Perez: ESPN writer Dan Rafael is reporting that Floyd Mayweather Jr. and World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao have signed a contract for the March 13th bout, and the purse split is going to be 50-50 for the $80 million. Gee, I wonder what happened to Pacquiao and his 60-40?
Thank god Pacquiao came back down to earth and agreed to the 50-50. I personally still think Mayweather should have gotten the most money, but whatever. Rafael says that no location for the bout has been selected yet. 8 oz gloves will be worn. That should benefit Mayweather, the quicker fighter. The best part of the deal is that the fight will be held at 147, rather than another catch weight. That’s good news.
Rafael says that for promotional purposes that the bout will be called “Mayweather-Pacquiao” with Mayweather’s name coming before Pacquiao. That makes sense, because Mayweather is the undefeated fighter and the one fighting in his home country. “M” comes before “P”, so Pacquiao should come after Mayweather in my view. But seriously, Mayweather has been a flawless performer in America for years now and has entertained audiences here for a decade.
I sure wish Pacquiao had fought someone like Timothy Bradley instead of Hatton, and Shane Mosley or Antonio Margarito instead of the recently beaten Cotto. And in place of De La Hoya, I would have liked to have seen Pacquiao fight Paul Williams. He and his management team have been great at match making until now, because he’s been kept out of fights against Bradley, Williams and Mosley for some reason.Last edited by adp023; 04-22-2012, 06:10 PM.

Its always funny seeing how Flo-mos defend Floyd like they are his lawyers. I remember scratching my head at some flo-mos who were interpreting Floyd lying about saying "Pacquiao youre next" they said Floyd was misinterpreted LMAO
The flo-mos did disappear for a month after the Bob Costas interview, because their little brains couldn't twist the Self Preservation line Floyd made, and how Costas basically called Floyd out about his health meaning is he scared of Pacman since he worries about his health lol
Pacquiao only fights because he wants to please the fans, a person who isnt scared to lose fights like Pacquiao, a person who is scared to lose fights like Floyd. Pacman doesnt run in a fight and he has horrible defense yet he takes chances like Braveheart, yet these Flo-mos act like Floyd is Mike Tyson 2.0 and a bad ass lol, Floyd is not a beast, when is a point fighter a beast? These guys take nut hugging to a whole new level.

i understand Floyds logic on this one. after the Marquez fight Pacquiao's stock definitely devalued.. plus Floyd would be getting ultimate revenge on Arum if he manages to secure his demands of a $40 mil flat fee, now that he has a justifiable reason to push it..
but in an ideal world they'd just agree the 50/50, get it over with you know..

Floyd wanted no cut-off date.......but conceded to 14 days out....
Manny said he needed 28 days...
That's when Floyd moved on realizing he wasn't serious..

Mayweather's latest stance (100% of the PPV revenue) is damn near impossible to defend. This is coming from one of the biggest fans of Mayweather.
But the original Micheal Marley article, that was unspecific, just simply "I'll take less money" could obviously be thought of as less of the PPV money.
But, it's confirmed now according to Pacquaio that he didn't mean that so I guess that article is irrelevant.
