the beatings cotto took against paquiao and in the first margarito fight took too much out of him and if you seriously watched the second margarito fight you saw the same thing start to unfold as it did first fight, luckily for cotto time and margarito's eye was a legitimate/convenient excuse to stop the second one. now cotto's facing a faster, more patient and the most acurate fighter than he'll ever face, who i agree, is more vulnerable at 35, but also alot more dangerous because he's sitting down on his punches and he doesn't know how to lose......i like cotto but he's going to get knocked out.

Cotto wasn't on the ropes nearly as much as in their first fight and was pushing Margarito back a lot. He also had his best round of the fight in the 9th and in the first fight didn't do anything after the 6th.

That's right. Also you saw a Cotto grabbing his opponent for first time in his career. It was necessary to neutralize Margarito's power and it was for special instructions of his trainer. And Cotto never used his watermark hook because he was told that the target was Margarito's eye only. Obviously sirron000 was watching the wrong fight that night.

I can't see how this will be Cotto's "hardest fight." He was beaten unmercifully by Margarito in their first fight and took an enormous ass-whipping against Pacquiao before that fight was stopped. Mayweather may well win every round (quite possible), but he'll never inflict anywhere near the punishment upon Cotto that Margarito or Pacuqiao did. The punishment Margarito laid on Cotto is the kind that ruins careers. It was brutal.

And the whole first fight with Margarito is in contention because of the possibility of loaded gloves, is it not? Did you see his face? It's hard to believe that Margs didn't have something illegal in his wraps/gloves. If you want to talk about Manny winning, fair enough, but to use the fight with Margs as an example is off base to me.

You can see the difference in Cotto even in his interviews since the second fight. He is much more relaxed, like he is at peace with himself. This confidence he has will benefit him immensely.

Because Cotto is mentally focused now, so if he was to lose now and lose in a way where it's not even close he would not only feel beaten but helpless. That along would be worse than taking a physical beating. At least when it's physical you have a chance to come back again better, when it's mental it's no hope.

Dougie Fischer who is a big Floyd hater actually thinks the same thing. He thinks that Cotto's style 5 years ago wouldve been tailor made for Floyd and he wouldve beat Cotto easily. He thinks now after working with Steward & now Diaz that his new style & boxing skill will be harder for Floyd to beat, e****ally at 154.

Sounds like Dougie's getting advice from the higher golden power. No matter, he'll just scoff it off as his opinion anyway.

This is not only done with Cotto. This has been done since before Floyd left Top Rank. Yet even when given proof of this, some still deny these facts and act like Floyd cherry picked a fighter just because he won the fight that people had hoped he would lose.

I will keep adding to my sig and pointing out the clowns who ironically tend to disappear when Floyd wins....
