but it is sickening because JMM is not a bum or an unknown fighter, he is a certified HOF worthy boxer, this happened to Felix Sturm in 2004, when he was the sacrificial lamb to make DLH - Hopkins possible, but people didn't really feel his pain because they did not know him, had no connection to his career. but JMM is known to us all, he has provided countless memorable bouts, one of mexicans greatest who is on the last leg of his career (38 years old) had to chase and beg to get his third crack at Manny, even signed to Top Rank to make it a reality, most likely put in his toughest training camp and got robbed as if he was a journeyman taxi driver.

Great post, doesn't make it any less disgusting and disgraceful, it ruins the sport and to treat someone like Marquez like ****e is wrong.

HBO was a total joke, Primetime in the UK were far better, saw some ESPN afetr fight stuff aswell and that was almost as bad as HBO, didn't realise how much people were on Manny's nuts over there in the US... in the UK nearly everyone saw it as a scandelous decision and clearly corruption at work.

I had Marquez up 8-4 easy. It was a robbery in my eyes and the eyes of the fans who were booing the result. They were all mexican cause Arum said they were all Mexican so it must be true. They werent all mexican i can vouch for that. I know i have said it before but I have watched this fight 4 times and i have never seen this close fight so many speak of. Ive watched it with people who didnt see it live see it and those who wanted to see it again to make sure they saw the right fight. 14 people so far. Hardcore Pac fans, Casual pac fans, JMM fans, casual fans in general who heard the commotion and wanted to see what it was about, and I have yet to find one who says it was close or that PAc won.

Worst Robbery EVER? C'Mon Nacho; You Need Drug Tested!

Give me a break.... Pacquiao was the most aggressive, moved forward the entire fight. Marquez backed up the entire fight (counter punching or not). Pacquiao threw over 140 more punches in the fight, and the cut he sustained was from a head butt. It was a war, it was a great fight. Forget who was who. The bottom line is, the guy moving forward, throwing considerably more punches, the obvious aggressor, will ALWAYS win the fight, regardless of what their name tags read.

Well said. What hurt me so much was the fact that he was treated like some journeyman when he's a HOFer & Pac is his chief rival not some tune up. This would've been his crowning achievement. I'm so sick of people comparing jmm to norton & frazier...norton's career couldn't hold a torch to jmm. & i know I'll get flack for this but smokin joe was a remarkable man who becam a HOFer for fighting a trillogy & winning 1 fight. But my point is at least those guys 'officially" got a win in their battles. Norton beat Ali twice & really joe made ali quit on his stool in pt 3. Zero justice for this mexican w/ a heart of steel. The truth is jmm beat manny more convicngly each time they fought. Part one they say the fight was scored improperly But nobody ever mentions the foul manny commited while marquez was down....that negates a point. Regardless anytime u kd a man 3 x's in one rd & only get a draw you got ur ass beat but I can live w/ a draw. Part two I thought was back & forth but thought jaun was doing the same thing he basically did in part 1 only better. But I accepted the 1 pt diff from the kd...no prollem...part 3 a whole EIGHT YEARS LATER....Juan basically fight the perfect fight ...controls every aspect of the fight...& stays on his feet & the margin is wider than all the others??? foh!! My basic thought is why rob a man of his glory to protect a fight ur scared to make?? Floyd trashes pacquiao...since when does a man who beat someone 2 times & never lost to them in 3 tries call that man out for a 4th showdown????? it's absurd. They know it was an injustice. Like Naz said...NOBODY is allowed to beat Pac by decision but floyd. ALl the dumbasses calling for jmm to go for it & take balls to the wall risks to get pac outta there make zero sense since it was juan's aggression that kept getting him dropped in the past. This whole situation turns a die-hard fan like myself off from boxing completely. wack as ****. Chased the man for yrs..went up 2 wt classes to fight him...beat his ass in a clinic...boxing lesson. Had pac confused...clueless & looking ******. Hit him w/ every shot in his bag to th ehead & body & people actin like he was sitting there like clottey. It's disgusting to me. juan has more than his number. Juan exploits pac's weaknesses to the fullest & w/ stands his attacks. Juan is a superb fighter not just some guy who has his number. Pac is just ****ty when he can't beat u his normal way...period.

Marquez Stomping on Pacquiao's Foot Trick

                  Watch this on youtube:

                  My observation:

                  1. Marquez will only launch an attack on Manny when his foot is on top of Manny's foot with his heel touching the canvass. Although this happens in boxing when a southpaw meets an orthodox figther, it is quite disturbing that Marquez will not remove his foot if he notices it was on top of Manny's, and looks like when he fails to land his foot on top of Manny's, he will hesitate to launch a counterstrike. I think when your foot is being stepped on, it will offset your balance and your ability to evade some of the punches. Cramps? Not impossible.

                  2. Manny was also seen twice doing that, but he also managed to evade JMM's foot by tilting his foot, and/or immediately removing his upon sensing his foot is on top of JMM's. However, JMM seems to have stepped on Manny's 7-8X during the bout with his foot almost entirely on top of Manny's foot and he will only attack if he plants his foot on top of Manny's foot perfectly. Although it is hard to look on the opponent's foot while fighting, it is not impossible to practice this on training with another sparring partner to facilitate what you call proprioceptive feedback. Even if you do this without looking at the opponent's foot, one way or the other your foot will land on the opponent's foot if you do this all the time.

Watch the replay of the entire bout and observe JMM's foot and do a slow motion if you can, you decide for yourself whether it is intentional or not.

My take: It definitely neutralized Manny's footwork and kept him off balanced the whole bout. But it is still cheating if it was intentional. 7-8 times during the bout? hmmm.... you decide.

First of all, I am a fan of boxing. Rounds are won by whoever controls the round, not just who is the agressor and yes Pac threw more punches than Marquez in some rounds by just one or two punches more, obviously Marquez landed the harder punches therefore rounds are won by the one who does more damage which Marquez did, also the myth that the challenger needs to knock the champ out is not true, if the sport was fair that doesn't matter. By the way I believe Pacquiao is the best boxer ever, but last fight it was Marquez night. No disrespect to anyone and I was inclined on Pac to win. So please don't rely on COMPUBOX when the fight is close, YOU RELY ON WHO MAKES A STATEMENT ROUND BY ROUND and it was Marquez 7-5 rounds, I gave Pac three of the close rounds to keep it fair and straight. If anyone has any comments let me know.

Look at the other Pac fights, he does that, it is not cheating, nor is cheating Pac hitting Marquez with knees when launching at him, nothing in their three fights are cheating, Marquez was always a step ahead of Pac, I still believe is the best boxer in history, but las Saturday it was all Marquez.
