Firstly we got to agree that Mosley didn't even fight the same fight against Pacquiao that he did against Mayweather.

Against Mayweather, Mosley took a lot more chances, being the aggressor for at least half the fight. This automatically gives Mayweather more opportunity to land shots because Mosley made himself an easier target to hit.

Against Pacquiao, Mosley was boxing on the backfoot and hardly engaged at all for nearly the whole fight. This automatically reduces the opportunity for Pacquiao to land shots because Mosley became a harder target to hit.

Now what is extremely surprising is that Pacquiao actually landed more shots than Mayweather, even though Mosley made himself a harder target to hit! Pacquiao landed 224 shots... Mayweather landed 208! And again, Mosley landed MORE punches on Mayweather than he did on Pac. So take from that what you will.

The connect percentage just boils down to accuracy. Of course, we all know Mayweather is one of the most accurate out there, but connect percentage is only a very minor issue in real terms, what's much more important is the number of shots actually landed in a fight. It's not like judges sit around calculating the connect percentage.. they don't ever factor that in AT ALL but they do factor in the Number of Shots Landed.
