what improvements did you see steward make with cotto against mayorga?

granted my ****** ******... but I didn't really notice anything great improvements in skill or technique.

I know bernstein or someone noticed cotto using his right hand more. and cotto using his jab again.

but cotto's defense still stinks... he's still getting hit with uppercuts.

    what did you notice?

i thought his defence was pretty good, he was bound to get caught tho, mayorga was countering with the right hand, and we all know how open to the right hand cotto already is/was

not much...his advise for the 12th round ****** as well he just kept repeating "short punches"

steward is only good with tall rangy fighters...he doesnt do much for any other kind of fighter

well, cotto needed to keep his punches compact, but wish he'd have used more angles instead of standing right in front of mayorga

The things Cotto needed improvement on, his defense and his ability to handle pressure, haven't improved. So he uses his jab and right hand a little more, doesn't matter when he forgets that the second someone starts pressuring him and smacking him around.

              He hasn't really.

Cotto still has the same flaws. Still does that cringeworthy attempt of the sholder roll when someone throws combinations on him.

              I see very little improvments.

It's basically the same old cotto but with steward's presence of mind and good tactical instructions during breaks.

he didn't deviate from his game plan. He stayed calmed, and collected throughout the whole fight. In the past he has proven to be one of those fighters to loose their cool onced tagged with a really solid punch. He retaliates, but in the process drops his technique, and goes a little crazy, which is something I didn't see him do in this fight. Aside from that he stayed off the ropes.
