The problem with Ortiz now is he wants to become a boxer puncher now hit and move style I thought he was beating Maidana easily until he became reckless throwing wild punches trying to knock him out Ortiz fighting to aggressive leaving himself open and Maidana made him pay big time in the Campbell Peterson fight Vic was patient setting up his punches working on avoiding brawls and punches using his legs more to protect himself better in the ring he wants to become a better overall fighter not just a come forward brawler that style of fighting made him quit against Maidana

Still. People keep talking about him as one of the fighters who might rule 140/147 in the future when he has done nothing to show he is going to do that. His two biggest leaps in competitions, Maidana and Peterson, he looked like nothing more than a good fighter.

All I am saying is he has enough talent and skill to beat anyone around his size, the mental thing......well that is something he has to decide to get over, move past, and live up to his potential.

Even if you lose confidence its not like its all over certainly downhill and you can't ever gain it back. Its up to him to learn from failures and become a better fighter and I hope he can and does soon because I don't want to see Berto anymore on HBO really.
