Floyd doesn't have that "killer instinct" like he had at lower weights. Especially in the 12th when he knows he is on his way to a victory.

This, it's quite F'ing simple. It's not even Floyd demeanor to do so. He is a defensive minded safety first fighter right now. He will take it if it comes, but he won't go after it.

Mayweather threw more than normal, and Cotto's D was sharper than it has been in awhile.

But yes, even though Floyd has been busier as of late, I didn't expect him to out throw Cotto.

No but what surprised me was mayweather only landing 26 percent of his punches. its a testament to a much improved defense by cotto. diaz did a good job improving cotto.

He was pushing for the KO in this fight.

He was pushing for it because he wanted to match Pacquiao but couldn't. Pac ko's Cotto drops him 2 times, Floyd just stun'd a very fatigue Cotto in the 12th. Floyd took more puishment than Pacquiao did when facing Cotto

So let me get this straight : You think a scorecard of 116-112 in favor of Mayweather is "fine", but two of the actual scorecards (which were only a one point difference at 117-111) are shady?

Dlh won 3-4 rounds. Cotto won 3-4 rounds but Floyd had to earn those rounds against Cotto.

This ^^^ Cotto made Floyd fight constantly. DLH took breaks because he couldn't maintain his pressure, but ofc those breaks helped Floyd too and made that victory just a little easier
