As for the condescending 'as you continue to watch boxing, you will grow out of that', well I really had to giggle at that one. I get the impression that you are probably quite young, and as such I was probably already having bouts myself and following the sport on tv and in small halls(licensed and unlicensed) while you were still a toddler.

Some of us grew up in an era when great fighters fought each other without making piss poor excuses and sticking the fans up like highwaymen.

And the most laughable thing that you have said is that you hold Manny and Floyd to the same standard! Yeah, if that standard happens to be the lame ass doctrine of 'da money team'.

You are being scammed. Take the blinkers off ffs.
I have said to you before I have watched boxing for more than 30 years. 1st fight I saw live was John Tate vs Mike Weaver. I am sure when you were in small halls, I was in crappy hotel ballrooms watching no names go at it. I have also always said I thought you were a real fan. No condescencion whatsoever.

I grew up in the same era. As such, you know Manny is listening to Bob Arum who is doing the same with this fight as he did when he promoted ALi and when he did fights like Hearns Leonard and Hagler Leonard. Thats why I expect you to have a different opinion.

I'm simply disappointed that a poster who I have repeatedly said seems to really know this sport bases their opinion on how they feel about floyd, not the facts.

Yeah, he'd go to MW to fight Sergio Martinez at 160 lbs, so he can avoid Pacquiao.

Floyd won't ever fight at 160 lbs, he's tiny at 154 for christ sake, and is smaller than most WW's as well.

Smaller than most WWs? No i would say Floyd is a fully fledged WW. The smaller than most wws you are talking about are probably light middlweights posing as WWs.

But Floyd fighting at middleweight is similar to JMM moving up 2 disions to fight FLoyd. Floyd didnt seem to think it was much of a big deal for JMM, or did he?
Well, Floyd can bloat himself up then!

Yeah and Floyd at least whupped JMM at a weight JMM arguably just beat Manny at, so keep up with the hate.

Floyd is not a natural WW man. You're going to tell me that Ortiz, Berto, Jones, Brook, aren't bigger than Floyd???? I said he was smaller than at least a lot of current guys high up in the WW division. He's like the same size as Devon Alexander.

And you completely, COMPLETELY, missed the point. Saying Floyd is going to fight Sergio at 160 lbs in order to avoid Manny Pacquiao is asinine.

Look, its not about how I feel about Floyd per se. Boxing has changed for the worse imo. I dont agree with or like his conduct in relation to the way he labelled Manny a cheat. I feel he dragged the sport into the gutter by doing it the way he did. Is that really so hard to understand?

As for Uncle Bob..Yes, the man is a **** and in that he is absolutely no worse than any other promoter. Boxing promoters are driven purely by self interest, would sell their own grannie's and contrive to hold the matches up the fans want to see purely to suit their own ends. Whats really pissed me off about this is that this whole debacle seems to be a battle of (half)wits between Arum and Floyd and as such we still have no fight.

Too much pride getting in the way here.

              No.

Not having to deal with Bob Arum is better.

                .
So what if Floyd isnt a big WW.....he is a natural WW now. Pac is a even smaller WW and hes beating any WW Floyd is beating so why is FLoyd being given extra credit? Floyd hasnt done anything Pac hasnt done at WW.

Yeah, Floyd beat JMM who had 12lb ankle weights on, and didnt even give JMM a warm up fight at that weight to acclimatise. So why cant FLoyd wear ankle weights and beat Sergio?

I didn't even mention Pac about size or anything. He gets credit too, he's not a natural WW, but he's at WW.

I was just saying I doubt Floyd goes to 160.....and your point was what???

Why can't Manny fight Sergio, even at 150 anymore??? Funny how people always forget about that.

Yeah Floyd beat a guy with those ankle weights on that Manny STILL couldn't, so why s**t on that???

If Floyd went to 160 or 154 and beat Sergio, he'd get huge credit. I doubt it happens. If Marquez had beaten Floyd at 144, he would have gotten huge credit too. He didn't, and he didn't have to go up and fight Floyd there. He had no obligation to.

I was just saying I odubt Floyd fights at 160 at any point in his career.

And if someone thinks going up to 160 to fight Sergio, though I doubt that happens, he'd be doing it to avoid Pacquiao....is just ignorant.

Well, Pac wears ankle weights at 147 as well, just like JMM does. So its even stevens. Pac would be wearing ankle weights to fight Floyd, but cos Pac has proven he can do stuff at 147 it would be competitive.

In my estimation JMM would do better against Floyd now as well, as he has acclimatised to the weight now. He could come in at 144.

If there are great fights at 154 there shouldnt be a need to go to 160. But its all about challenging yourself, so if FLoyd wants to, why not? Yes it is hard to fight bigger guys, they hit harder and take your punches better. But no one said it would be easy.
