I'm curious to see if he spends a full 90 days in a cell though...
If he goes the full 90 it changes the may/pac fight from 3-1 to even IMO and I would pick manny to win. This is not the age to begin cutting 20-30 lbs before a fight.

      Yeah... fully anticipate that.

Though, to give Cotto a bit of credit.. one thing he has always had.. is good timing.

And in his most recent interview, he was asked what he will have to prepare for the most, and he said Floyds counter punching.

Now, knowing something and being able to act on it are two different things, but in the very least, at least he's aware of it.

Unlike when Cotto fought Pacquiao and told the reporter.

      "I am just as fast"

No. Not really. But it isn't because Cotto is shot. It is because it is Mayweather. Martinez is the only person I think really would have a chance at an upset, but he is also really old and is going to decline very rapidly once he starts to go.

As brilliant a video it is, it has been used too many times as an example on this forum.

Floyd doesn't possess those cat-like reflexes from years gone by. He can still Pullcounter, but not as devastatingly fast as those on the video.

Besides that I don't have PBF putting on that much weight in 90 days or less. Hell I don't even have him going to jail. I have my reasons for that as well.
Those are non atheletes on a regimented food intake for the 1st time in their lives. We are talking about a man that routinely truns and keeps his weight within 5 -10 lbs of fight weight. Different diet too.

I see your point, he may not do a day. But if he does the full 90 i'm picking pac if they fight in Nov.

and it's not like Cotto has that homerun punch that can change things

his best style is to try to break down Floyd and that means getting inside...he doesn't have the speed or skill to do that IMO

I don't know if he's gonna gain that kind of weight.

Some guys just don't gain weight... I have a friend that eats whatever he wants, doesn't work out and his weight never changes... Pac and May seem to be those types of fighters... Just their natural genes, they just don't gain weight like that.

Although I give you this, in the JMM fight, Floyd did look bigger coming off that hiatus.

                So time will tell

Cotto has good timing vs guys with no speed, I mean Clottey was landing everything he threw at him. Also in this video below look at Manny who is shorter with a shorter reach out time Cotto.

i remember the "Im just as fast" quote

What? he did it numerous times vs Hatton, Marquez and Mosley.

I agree Mayweather isn't young in his 20s anymore but neither is Cotto. The guys in that video were young and fast just like Mayweather was
