You can't buy Mcdonald's latest bacon cheeseburger or the newest videogame if you don't know it exists. 24/7 is a giant advertisement. Roughly speaking it would be as though 100 million more people suddenly became aware your product exists.

lol, i dont think u get what im saying. my point is the viewership for cbs consists of a lot of ppl who choose not to subscribe to hbo/showtime for what 5 or 10 dollars a month. now what u are gonna be doing is asking these very same ppl to pay for a ppv that costs $65 or more. and what you are gonna be using is a scaled back version of an award winning show. my point is it has the potential to back fire.

not to mention the fact that it would have to be seriously scaled back for being on non-cable tv. its a bad idea really and im not sure that it will have the effect they are hoping for.

think about it, ppl who watch non cable tv typically dont want to pay for cable.
You think more view HBO or Showtime more so than what they view prime time CBS?

And, everybody who has HBO and would watch 24/7 on HBO why wouldn't they in turn watch it on CBS since they already have CBS? And, now the only ones who have Showtime and not HBO can watch a 24/7 like series or 1 time show on CBS because they already have CBS?

At the very least it would get the same ratings that it would have if it was on HBO....Those same viewers would tune in to CBS.

In spite of what many of you think, a 24/7 show on CBS will do nothing to help this promotion. First, a Pac/Mosley 24/7 will be extremely boring -- much more boring than the Pac/Cotto or Pac/Margarito 24/7 shows. People watching it will be more turned off to the match than turned on. Second, in order to attract the casual fan, a fight still has to be a matchup with two top notch opponents. This is not. This is a case of a guy who has never been a draw and is now over the hill fighting a drug-abusing coward who has fought nothing but safe fights for the last two years. This fight will draw less than 1 million PPV's regardless of whether the 24/7 show is on CBS or HBO.

They're not interested in owning a channel, that's completely different than purchasing a single night of entertainment. Backfire to some degree? Maybe it won't be an overwhelming impact, but it will certainly increase PPV #s noticeably. Just because you don't want to watch entourage or have movies on when you're not at home doesn't mean you're allergic to spending some money. They are 2 different products. I suppose we'll only know for sure if this happens. Fingers crossed it does.

Probably the only trully garbage post in the entire thread. Atleast make an effort at objectivity.

stop saying "24/7" 24/7 is something exclusive to HBO, what CBS will air is totally different. It could be like Fight Camp 360 or it could be something totally new and different.

This should be a given. But it's good that we clarify, as for some it is not.

So, I should be objective the way Pac nuthuggers like you are so objective. All of Pac's 24/7 shows have been boring. Mosley has never been a draw on PPV. Pac have never been as big of a draw as his worshippers like you like to claim. He drew 1.1 million in his last fight (Margarito), 700,000 before that fight (Clottey) and 1.2 million (Cotto). Margarito supposedly has a following, but the fight still didn't draw the 1.5 million that Arum claimed and predicted. Mosley cannot draw flies and even hard-core boxing fans won't buy this fight. If hard core fans won't buy it, what they hell makes your ****** ass think that casual fans will buy it? How many fans did Mosley draw in his last PPV against Sergio Mora? The answer is we don't know because the numbers were so low that HBO refused to release them. If Pac has never drawn more than 1.2 million on PPV and the only time he has drawn more than 1 million has been when he fought three Hispanics (De La Hoya, Cotto, Margarito) with a good following, what the hell makes you think he will draw more than 1 million with a guy who the networks won't even put on PPV as the featured attraction?

Is that objective enough for you, dumbass?
