How is Pascal gonna handle Hopkins ?

Pascal genuinely admits that Hopkins is the biggest challenge of his whole career even if the Legend is now in his mid-fourties.

Based on the fact that Pascal knows he can't really surprise Hopkins with anything despite the fact that he is more versatile than given credit for, how do you think he will approach this fight, what will be his gameplan ?

Make it a brawl, pressure to tire not so young Hopkins and hope to outpoint him or even stop him late ?

Try to box and stay away from the cagey veteran, pick his shots, fight at a slow pace, much like he did against Dawson ?

Get in a foul fest with Hopkins to throw him off his game, make him do a bit of a comedy act and brutalize him ?

    Something else ?

Just do his flurries and rely on Hopkin's ailing reactions to sneak in some powerful right hands. He did that well enough against the spring chicken Boreson so should be OK against 'ol Popkins.

avoid fighting up close or against the ropes. Pascal just needs to stay at distance, pick his shots, and move. The way he fought vs Dawson, would beat Hopkins.

I fully agree that Pascal must stay away from Hopkins, and I believe it just might be Hopkins' plan for this fight to smother and batter Pascal on the inside

          Hopkins is like E.Honda..

Stay away from his headbutts and you should do fine.

you think his flurries will be enough to beat a fighter as elusive and as experienced as Hopkins ?

and ailing reactions ? I have notice Hopkins has now stamina issues, but I haven't noticed that his reactions have slowered

Given how quickly he got winded against Dawson even whilst winning early, I'm not so sure about his chances here. Hopkins is always susceptible to being outworked, but Pascal will need movement to compliment his flurries. If he can't make that style stick for 12 rounds, he'll lose. Hopkins is such a cautious and methodical fighter that his age doesn't show up stamina wise. Pascal has to jump in and out, and avoid infighting vs Hopkins.

I like the fact that pascal is so fearless. He's going to take risks and his quickness and explosive style of boxing will give Hopkins all kinds of probem. I also think Hop underestimate Pascal and overrate his own ability. He's sees a lot of flaws in Pascal and thinks he can school him like he did when he fought Pavlik. Problem is Hop is not the same fighter anymore and is too slow and will not be able to do the things he believes he can still do.

Hopkins is going to look old in there and Pascal will take advantage of that and be the first one to knock out the old man.

...And still the WBC LightHeavyWeight Champion Of The World.....Jean Pascal!!!

Pascal does have some stamina issues, and you're right, the moment Hopkins senses Pascal is tiring, he will jump on him to try to finish him off/beat him up on the inside with a prey too tired to move away

I disagree about Hopkins age not showing stamina wise though

he was obviously very tired when he fought Calzaghe and acted a terrible low blow to get a breather

he went on to do the same thing against Jones (who wasn't even pursuing Hopkins), act to get a much needed breather

unfortunately, Pascal's own issues with stamina won't allow him to pressure and outwork Hopkins

it's unlikely, but that would be awesome to witness the fall of Hopkins live as I'll be there, knocking him out even at this late stage of his career would be one hell of an achievement
