Is Pac a TOP-10 fighter from Flyweight to Welter?

Let's ignore heavies such as Jack Johnson, Joe Louis, Muhammed Ali for the moment; and light-heavyweights such as Gene Tunney, Billy Conn, Ezzard Charles, Archie Moore, Bob Foster, Michael Spinks, Roy Jones; and middle-weights: Stanley Ketchel, Harry Greb, Charley Burley, Tony Zale, Carlos Monzon, Marvin Hagler.

    Is Pacquiao a TOP-10 of all-time "little man?" Flyweight-Welterweight

    Without a doubt yes!

I think in decades to come Pacquiou's name will be mentioned amongst the names of the great smaller fighters of all time. I think Mayweather's name on his record really helps his cause though.

I think he deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as the likes of Whitaker, Duran, Gans, Leonard, Pep etc. The guy is quite a phenomenon, with excellent skills.

My gut reaction is to say "hell yeah." But I have a hard time placing him number 1 over the last 40 years. Duran and SRL are arguably as good as Pacman. Alexis Arguello, JCChavez, Whitaker and Mayweather weren't slouches either.

Going back further we have Joe Gans, Benny Leonard, Willie Pep, and of course how can we forget Hank Armstrong and SRR?

I don't particularly watch or follow much under featherweight. Surely there has to be someone at those weights who cracks the TOP 10.

      Terry McGovern,
      George "Black Chocolate" Dixon,
      Eder Jofre

He have had dominant peformance against bigger skilled foes. He beat the 3 big mexican at the lighter weights. Fun to watch and an argumnet can be made in how he would preform against some of the all time greats. A defining fight with Floyd will place accordingly in boxing history

          Nice post.

Whenever a boxing ATG top ten is thrown up in conversation, even for the lighter weights.......places disappear very quickly.

Would I feel confident in matching Pacqiou's ability with the 10 best ATGs of the lower weight division? Yes, he would I'm sure acquit himself very well even if losing to some. Only time will of course tell, but I've got a feeling that Pac is fast becoming a legend of the sport.
