theres a lot of things that could have affected the outcome of this fight , But god forbid u even mention them in here , for a lot is not how much true there can be behind it as much as what kind of excuse ur making. I did notice him skinnier than usual. But oh well , IMO like I said in my thread he could have had the fight ,he had the tools , and for me he exposed manny. but he did all he wasnt sposed to. Is over , Hopefully he bounces back gets a real trainer, and gets a rematch , no catchweights , or nutin , and Im positive , that he can offer so much more to the outcome of this fight , He could break Manny down fighting smart and patiently. The possibiliies of him getting a rematch????? I have no idea, It all depends of his next few fights.

So the reliable source is none other than another topic in this very forum?
Just wait another week and another moron is gonna make another topic saying that Cotto couldn't rehydrate and will link to this topic as a proof.
So moronic.

At the end of the day is Cotto's fault for signing that contract.
I give props to Pacquiao for a great fight but all this catch weight crap has to stop, if he as good as Roach says he is then he should have fought Cotto at 147 & let him rehidrate however he pleased, to me this tarnishes Pac's wins, always getting the advantage before the bell rings.

He was beaten to a pulp. If Cotto has any sense he stays the **** away from Pacquiao. He cannot beat him. Ever. If they fought again it would be worse because Manny knows he can walk through Cotto's punches. No chance of a rematch. Pacquiao fights 1 or maybe 2 more fights and then retires.

Jesus... I'm probably one of the biggest Cotto fans on here and he lost, plain and simple. Sure, he was slimmer than in his other fights, but he was also A LOT more ripped, he had less fat on him. He was also quite a bit faster, until the knockdown AND his punches were snapping Manny's head back more than I've seen in quite some time. Do I think the 2nd knockdown reminded him of the Marg fight and put Cotto into shell mode? Yes. Do I think the corner did a ****ty job as well? Yes. Do I feel Cotto won the vast majority of rounds 3 and 4 as well? Yes.
But really, who gives a ****? It took me a few days to come to terms that Cotto lost, period. There are no excuses, because he WASN'T in the ring with Marg that night and if he felt like his punches weren't doing anything and backed up Cotto is a dumbass for backing up after that point. He'd never really hurt anyone, even prior to the Marg fight, early in his fights he beat them down over time. He should have attacked Manny on the ropes in stead of letting him slither away and then chase him with that sloppy combo that got him knocked down in the first place. And now he should realize that just having some guy make your ego feel better doesn't make you a better fighter and that while having some guy yell at you and badger you may hurt your pride it makes you a better fighter in that ring, PERIOD.
And as I stated, yes I'm sure the Marg fight effected Cotto its pretty obvious the fact is he still signed the contract to fight Manny and lost to the better man, just as it was no different than Ward putting a beat down on Ward. Did the headbutts, holding and ref help him... sure, but it didn't take away from the fact that Kessler still got beat by the better man that night, its no different than Cotto.

"Its no concern of mine whether it is 145 pounds or not," Cotto said.
"That is the usual weight that we cut down to for the weigh in, and in the ring—on fight night—I will go up eight to 10 pounds, so actually during the fight I will weigh around 155," stated Cotto.
