It just depends on the situation really.

But, make no mistake, there's definitely no time for establishing the jab in a real fight situation. lmao

With what I've observed in street fights, punches of choice are the haymaker and the wide/lunging hook, motherf**kers think they're Tyson.

However, I have witnessed a fight between this guy who was about 5'9 and the dude he was exchanging words with was like 6'3 outside of a club. Short dude lunged like RJJ with a right-hook and cold-****ed the big-burly guy and homeboy was out before he even hit the concrete. The guy was f**Kin' unconscious and they had to call the ambulance.

If a streetfight goes onto the grounds, it's because

      a) Either one or both guys can't fight

or b) One of the dudes is a wrestler and knows what he's doing, and that ain't too often

Most people back the hell off from a fast jab to the nose or mouth, and if they try to throw back, you're already set up to lead straight back in with your power hand

And it probably would have saved a lot of effort, time, and bruises if you threw straight punches down the middle

Since I started watching boxing, I always use the jab in street fights. It sets **** up, throws your opponet off, and makes it much easier to blast a guy out.

On that note, I had my last street fight when I was 17. Anybody over the age of 18 who is regularly getting into street fights needs to grow the fuck up, or move out of the hood.

DAMN it all mixed up in this forum. I'll try the jab if I have to get into a fight.

co-****in sign...there is nothing worse than hitting up a spot that has bad ass hoes left and right, only to have some almost 30 year old lookin ***** bump into you on purpose trying to start a fight.

my last fight was when I was 17-18 but back then while I could box, I often resorted to just grabbing and manhandling people. I would throw a quick 1-2 close the gap and either slam then to the ground or just over power them. So yeah I had to say I was a wrestler, which thinking back on it made no sense since I was always tall 6-4 and had a paul williams like reach.lol

but as far as using the jab is concerned...you could knock people the **** out with that if used proper. Usually whether you hit our miss with it, their head will go back leaving their chin wide open for a right hand.
