Man, if you rewatch Wilder and fury 1, Wilder looked so good. But man, I think that trilogy took everything out of him. He looked like a completely different fighter Zhang & Parker. He stopped throwing his big punches and started trying to box but never let his hands go again. Sadly, I think he’s done.

No doubt, those three wars of Wilder vs Fury took something special out of both men. Neither has been the same since.

I believe Wilder still has it. He had never fought a live young guy before Parker. As for Zhang he is huge and has tremendous power. These losses could have happened at any time in his career. Wilder is still top-5 just like he always was.

If I was AJ - I would not fight Wilder right now. Wilder just has too much power and is fast too. Wilder is a guy you fight for the belt, not in a non-title fight. AJ has a terrible chin, anyone fast, with power will land on AJ.

He never had it, he just fought class C- fighters until he fought be class fighters and was demolished.

Deontay and Marcellus Wilder are the Chin Brothers. They stay getting chinned. Deontay has a few problems. 1) Deontay always had stork legs, but they were strong. Now, they're not as strong as b4. So he can't spring off that back leg anymore. He used to be able to take that sudden big quick leap and hit a home run with that right hand. That was a major part of his game. But he can't surprise anybody with that no more. People can read all his movements, and back him up. He's not as sturdy or as twitchy as he used to be, so now he has to box. BUT... 2) he can't box. The one guy that was teaching him anything, he wouldn't listen to, and then he accused him of drugging him. (Still hasn't produced one grain of proof, by the way). Malik scott basically taught him to think too much, took his instincts away, but Deontay isn't cerebral at all. Respectfully, how can Malik teach him anything, when he knocked Malik out in less than 1 round? His defense hasn't improved under Malik one bit, as evidenced by how many times he's been chinned under Malik's care. Not only chinned, but knocked cold, head put to bed, perma dream, if you will. Those kinds of blows chip away at your motor skills, punch resistance, timing, reflexes, & how quickly you process things in the ring, 3) These deficiencies amount to greater chances of getting chinned over and over. There's no return to glory after all those bad knockouts, it ain't gonna happen...4) these current heavyweights are big, strong, & fresh, they haven't been punished like u have. They'll process faster than you. They'll go at about 50% grind you down, let you think you're in the fight. As soon those old legs get a little bit tired, and you do one of your many bad habits, something they prepared for in the gym, then they'll put a couple clean sledgehammers on that chin on that same nerve that has been rang many times b4, and your legs, body and brain will remember what to do--- crash to the canvas and go to sleep!! Go sit your narrow behind down somewhere and enjoy life, b4 you get hurt real bad, my man.

That's a lot of words just to say the man's a shot one-trick pony, brother.

For all the claims of "Fury took something from him" and "he's mellowed too much", he was still the same Wilder against Helenius.

Judging him against Fury, Parker and Zhang and deciding he's lost something isn't a reasonable comparison. He can't box and he never could. Against decent level opponents he looked crap - what's changed?

But he'll throw his bombs against this bloke. The same Wilder we always had.

Helenius is Wilder's former sparring partner who has done NOTHING in the division. He basically stuck his chin out so that Deontay could clip him. Robert was an intentional soft- touch comeback opponent after Wilder's two consecutive KO losses to Fury. Judging Wilder against former champions and a then forty-one-year-old contender who KOd him just last year, is absolutely a reasonable measuring stick.

Wilder is gun shy and can't pull the trigger. He doesn't have any other skill sets to pull from to compensate.

Sounds to me like boxing is living rent free in wilders head , it’s over but he will not accept it . Quite sad really
