I think the final nail in his coffin should be wanting to fight a super featherweight at welterweight. He already admitted that a smaller man will never beat him.

to be 100 percent honest...this breaking news didnt surprise me. Nor did the reaction of boxing fans surprise me. He gets a TON of criticism ANYWAY, so why should this decision be any different? The world isn't over. Everyone is STILL going to tune in on July 18th. I think its funny how people say, "thats IT! I'M DONE WITH FLOYD!", but they will CONTINUE to post about the man, they will CONTINUE to read his interviews and watch his fights, if they are fans or not.
I am not going to defend nor criticize the decision for this fight to be at 147.
When its ALL said and done, the fight that the FANS REALLY want to see Mayweather vs. PacMan..I believe that is the SOLE reason that he came back anyways.

It's a tune up fight after a 2 year layoff which will set up a fight with Pacquiao (which will be the biggest fight in the sport). Of course floyd is going to take every advantage he can possible get.
Now if he pulls the same **** with Pacquiao, then I'll lose a lot of respect, but I seriously doubt Freddie Roach would allow that to happen.
Besides, it's either Floyd vs Marquez at 147 or Floyd fighting some bum or washed up opponent as his tuneup.

This fight was a borderline mismatch at 144 IMO, so the extra 3lbs don't really matter anyways.
