If Margarito didn't earn a shot,

why did Floyd tell him to his face,

"You'll get your shot, it will be bigger and better later"?

But yea, at the time Floyd entered the division, Margarito was the longest reigning beltholder. The beltholder none of the other big names wanted to tangle with. Tony certainly wasn't the first, and won't be the last. But at that time, he deserved a shot as much as anyone else. So he lost to Paul Williams, so what?

Judah lost to Baldomir and Floyd had no qualms about facing him.

    Tony had Floyd shook.

How can we explain it to you? Margarito wasn't some one-hit wonder. His situation is akin to Timothy Bradley if Bradley were to keep winning yet somehow be unable to secure a big fight against a junior welter. For five years. Think about it.

In 2002, HBO was behind Margarito. A match versus fellow champ Ricardo Mayorga was what everyone talked about--and HBO pushed for it. Mayorga's promoter (King) had other plans, like keeping the belt in house. That's how Cory Spinks even got a shot. And like he did with Hopkins at 160 (where King controlled the other fighters and refused to give them a shot at Hops), he kept his big names away from the champ he had no control over. Mayorga, Spinks, Judah...see a pattern? And so Margarito was left to take the fights no one else wanted to; the unknown fighters some good, others not. Cintron, Santos...right up to Williams. That's the way it goes, man.

How is Leon Spinks a better fighter than Juan Manuel Marquez? Lol, that's just a little over the top there. Michael was legitimately great but he beat Holmes, at least in the first fight he did. Leon Spinks was no great fighter lol, Marquez is.

Norton ahead of Hatton, it's easy to say that a few days after Hatton gets KO'ed but let's remember, Hatton won his championship by stopping the acknowledged champion of the division. Norton won a vacant belt and lost it in his first defense.

        Shavers never won a title.

I hope you're joking with the whole "Leon is better than Marquez" statement

The kid is a shock poster.

He makes ridiculous claims which even he doesn't believe. Hes the kid that says and does things for attention, whether its good or bad.

He just needs people to show him that they see him in the room.

I'd put a win over Floyd above all that.

                Barrera too.

Marquez over Leon and arguably Michael.

Shavers is another good win like Hatton is.

                Next.

Margarito, Cotto, Mosley, Clottey, Williams, Quintana, Cintron.

                    All those guys I named,

Floyd beat none of them as welterweight lineal champion.

Judah was an undisputed champ. Margarito was a beltholder. And Baldomir was the lineal champ. And yea Judah lost to Baldomir, Floyd wouldn't turn down wat would be regarded as a somewat superfight and then he fought Baldomir who had beaten Judah anyway.
