There was a thread on here the other day saying how Hatton is a clown if he thinks that he is the new P4P King if he beats Pac. Everyone agreed with that but I took up for Hatton. I didnt say that he definatly would be but I think his case is just as good as anybodies for that #1 spot with Floyd & Joe being retired.
Overall, I seriously beleive that Hatton is so underrated on these boards. I thought it was ****** when he got ripped for the Collazo fight and now you see how good Collazo is. Hatton is a very good fighter and I think Pac may beat him, may knock him out, or I could also see Hatton winning, and possibly knocking Pac out. Its a straight 50/50 fight to me with my mind changing every day on it. I will tell you this though, if Hatton is on his game then Pac is in trouble. I swear people forget how good Hatton was. I remember watching the Tackie fight a month ago and being amazed by how good he was.
You might say that he's not like that anymore but I thought he looked great again against Paulie. To me that fight was exactly like Pac-Oscar in the sense that Oscar looked like walking death but I still thought Pac fought well. In the Paulie fight I thought that was the worst Ive ever seen Paulie look but I also thought that Hatton fought well. This is in some ways just another big fight for Pac but Hatton is looking at it like his career fight. He knows that this can change everything and I compare that to Margarito vs Cotto. Margarito was going to be hell to beat that night and I beleive Hatton will be the same way. Its also like Campbell against Diaz.
Now we find out that Margarito probably cheated so that changes some things but that again brings up another story which comes back to Floyd. Everytime you think there's a huge Floyd fight possible, something bad happeneds. I honestly beleive that if Tszyu wouldve beat Hatton then we wouldve seen Floyd-Tszyu next because Tsyzu's Showtime contract was up, neither guy had anyone left to fight at 140, and both wanted the fight. Everyone thought Tszyu would win and Hatton beat him. Then everyone thought we could see a Cotto-Floyd fight and ofcourse Margarito ruined that. Now alot of people are thinking we could see Pac-Floyd and I could see Hatton putting an end to that, e****aly with Sr. in his corner. Also, Pac is alreayd talking about doing something else. JMM is seriously talking about fighting Floyd but I think he will soon change his mind after hearing that both Pac & Hatton are talking about a JMM fight next instead of Floyd. Arum even wants a Pac-Cotto fight before Floyd.
The bottom line is that I think this thing is setting up for Hatton to play the spoiler. He's big, he's just as fast as Pac, he has a great trainer now, and he's going to be willing to die in that ring. That brings me back to my original point. What if Hatton wins? You know that he wants the Floyd rematch but he would definatly take the JMM fight 1st since its easier and he's the next P4P guy. If he beats Pac who is bigger, faster, stronger, younger, and better at the weight then JMM, then he should have a very good chance of beating JMM. So what if Hatton beats Pac & JMM back to back? Are you going to tell me then that he wouldnt be P4P #1? I think if you say NO then thats just because you dont like him and you want to make excuses for your boy's losing. He would have legetimate wins over Pac, JMM, Tsyzu, Collazo, Castillo, Urango, and Paulie. Also, if Hatton wins both fights then how does that win that Mayweather has over him look then?
