Capetillo, Marg's trainer, likes to re-use gauze when he wraps Marg's hands. He also uses a gauze from Mexico that has some wax made within it. It has a tendency to dis-color from white to grey over time. It can aslo harden a bit, but not so much where an advantage can be had. It's just a bit-hardened wax. I don't think that can really be percieved as a advantage for Marg? Possibly, but I just don't think it was "plaster like" at all.
    Thanks for this report.

According to eyewitness-reports of the incident a 'hardened plaster-like substance' was found in the wraps.

This is a fact. Wheter or not this hardened substance was caused by wax or not is irrelevant. And obviously your source is from marg's camp which does retract his credibility.

But what's interesting here is also an admission of Capetillo tampering with the wraps, and doing so regularly. Incredible that this has gone unnoticed. The commisions and supervisors for Marg.'s fights must have ears redder than red.

The NSAC would have to get involved, and it's way too easy for them to just turn the other cheek and absolve themselves of any blame. You really think they would risk the credibility of their commission to investigate something that happened so long ago after they already said they saw nothing wrong?

It's gonna be something that we'll never know, and it's just gotta be left to that.
The Commision Needs to come out and address the issue about what the fack is in those wraps...We all need to know!!!!

You may be right. Until then, Cotto fans and Margarito fans will be going back and forth. Unless there's a rematch next year, however there are alot of hurdles to jump for that to happen. It sucks that this sport that we love has to suffer like this. This is what's killing the sport. You'll never see **** like this happen to baseball ( And just for the record I am a die hard Mets fan). McGuire, Bonds, ARod- And still Baseball will not lose a beat.

It's sick to think of Margarito confronting Mayweather all along knowing he would enter the ring with Plaster wraps... That **** is definitely psychotic.

It's like "Hey mister... you wanna box me?" "I got plaster in my gloves and you will never know until I kill you in the ring."

Don't want to jump on the whole Margarito thingy but the worst part is, he is a HUGE WW and on top of that he'd cheat, as if being MUCH bigger wasn't enough

                Correct. Margarito fans fail again.

1st you said wax and now you dont seem to know. listen the guy cheated and he is getting off the hook with a 1 yr suspension, which most elite boxers take off an average of about six month anyway so he is only missing one fight. being a fighter u should know when foul play is invovle when it comes to your hand wrapps. the only advantage you should have in the ring is your skills not equipment.

Truth is we will probably never know for sure.Cotto seems to have drawn a line under it and has taken a principled stand on the issue without getting high handed or emotional. For that reason I think he has come out of this debacle with a lot of credit, whereas Margarito and his entire camp look pretty scabby. It doesnt matter whether he did or didnt if all you can do is speculate,Cotto's fans may disagree with that, but until its proven the loss will always be on his record. It was good to see him come back so well showing no ill effects.I guess there is some vindication in that
