Is that why Bernard was the underdog that night, and Vegas odds were against him?

      Pavlik lost worse
Almost everybody except blind nuthuggers expected Jones to lose. Jones actually knocked down Calzaghe and won the first two rounds. I also had an even sixth round.
Pavlik didn't win a single round when everyone was saying not if Pavlik could win, but how Pavlik could win and how decisive the win would be. Plus it looked like Pavlik was ready to be KOed when Jones didn't seem in danger of that, but he was cut pretty bad.

How do you figure he had no chance in the fight? He never even took any damage. It looked like he wasn't even trying.

Jones lost 11 of 12 rounds. Watch the fight and look at the scorecards.
Your "opinion" of what happened in the fight is irrelevant. Thats why you are on the internet giving ****** opinions while real judges score fights.

Something must have changed in the first 5 seconds of the first round.

The "odds" are set by Vegas people..If you use your own head and figured Pavlik would be easy work, is Bernard still the underdog?

It's all in the record. Pavlik is still a bit green...he only had 2 defenses at MW, Hopkins has much more experience.

The same people who saw that, knew Jones was not fresh enough to beat Calzaghe.

Roy got beat down worse in a literal sense, Pavlik was just outclassed throughout, but Pavlik’s hype train took the biggest overall beating…

Oh I totally agree, I picked Hopkins to school Kelly and Calzaghe to beat Roy.

Though I didn't see Roy getting beaten up as badly as he did. I still saw a clear, decisive Calzaghe UD.

in terms of physical damage, pavlik got it worse cause hopkins punches harder than calzaghe.

pavlik's defeat was worse in a different way than jone's defeat was. pavlik was the favorite going into that fight against bernard while not much was expected of jones and with that he gave calzaghe a KD in the first round. but with he was cut badly, overall jones did a much better job fighting than pavlik did that night, although he was dominated much of the fight.
