doesn't matter how quick pac is, his defense is not good and dlh hits too hard, has too much reach, too much punch resistance, and is just too damn big.

I hope pac enjoys his money because he won't be the same after this fight.

I'm not sure who's the better boxer, I find Marquez landing more than De La hoya does, even in his Prime. That's not a diss on De La hoyas accuracy..which was quite good also.
I definitely agree. Marquez got fast hands and he's more accurate and his timing is almost impeccable. Not only has he got the fast hand speed, he generates very good leverage with each punch he throws in his combinations unlike other noted speedy fighters who tend to pitter-pat to generate speed. At 35, he still got fast twitch reflexes that makes him a successful counterpuncher even up to now. So I wonder why some people keep going on about "if Marquez was able to hit Pac...," like they're downgrading JMM's abilities as if he was a slow plodder or something.

That's in contrast to what a lot of people have been saying about present day Oscar who can't seem to pull the trigger against quick opponents like he used to. He only throws fast combos in a few bursts or when he has his opponent hurt badly, and he throws even less (including jabbing less) as the fight goes beyond the sixth. He does better against slower brawlers who are willing to go toe-to-toe or stay stationary and open in front of him during the exchanges (e.g.: Vargas, Mayorga, old Chavez) where he's got a better chance of landing his bombs.

Pacquaio is too small for de la hoya and won't make it past the 6th round, fighting overrated ****roach Marco Barrera isn't the same was fighting a legend in Oscar DE LA HOYA

I think this is even funnier than the Shugs/Tony prediction threads, because mostly everyone knew that could've gone either way.

This, however, is comedy gold from pretty much everyone.

Watch him against Manny again, or Casamayor. Even Casamayor is quicker. Marquez is just that good at everything else that his handspeed defficiency doesn't matter that much. I think that's also why he made himself into such a good counterpuncher....'cause he simply isn't going to land as much if he leads more than he counters.

And honestly, I think Marquez is the more highly skilled, easily, but Oscar is more consistant, has faster hands (for his size), and is a little smarter in the ring (not so easily drawn into a slugfest). The thing that always made Oscar stand out, to me, at least, was his ability to put together 8 or 10 punch combos so accurately. And yes, you're probably right about Oscar being more accurate, too, but I think that leads back to handspeed.
He may not be as fast as guys like Joel Casamayor, Manny Pacquiao, but he has excellent timing and timing beats speed. Thats why he beat Joel Casamayor, and thats why he can out punch Manny Pacquiao at times, even though Manny Pacquiao is clearly faster.
