Roy actually has decent stamina for 39 years old. And you know what else people are underestimating? The fact that Roy Jones is going to be all the way up for this fight, he'll have motivation. Roy is going to wicked determined to win because he respects this opportunity and who he is fighting. Also, Roy probably wouldn't have taken this fight if he didn't think he could deal with Calzaghe's work rate. Roy is one of the smartest fighters in the buisness, ask anybody.

well, if you were arguing that point with someone else, they would tell you he didnt look that bad after that fight because he was no longer fighting a fighter the caliber of glen johnson, prince bad, hanshaw, and tito would all get mauled by glen johnson...

Roy Jones Jr. was mentally ****ed up in 2004. The knockout and the hurricane that ruined his property around the time of the Glen Johnson fight. He had to stop training and move camp. Plus like Emanuel Steward said, he cameback way too fast after a devastating knockout.

I think Roy would beat Glen Johnson now. I don't even think Glen Johnson is that good. I think some overate him, he was a decent fighter, nothing more. IMO.

In 2005 it was obvious that Roy was physically back to reasonable form(obviously not what he was in his prime but as good as he can be past his prime). But against Tarver its like he didn't want to win or something. Tarver had him gun shy and then that weird situation with his father was going on.

oh you mean the fight that if Roy actually threw punches he could have won? but chose to lose...that looked pretty mental to me. What did Tarver do? Throw a jab every 15 seconds? I doubt that was stopping him. Even Steward said, Roy's speed/reflexes look to be back in that fight.
