    Eubank's Weird ****/Appreciation Thread

I appreciate both aspects of Chris Eubank. The goofy lovable weirdo and the stone cold killer. A sure fire top notch entertainer. This thread is dedicated to all the badass feats and hilarious or just plan weird **** he's done.

I'll kick us off with what's probably the classic of all classic Eubankian bull****; that time Chris KO'd a dude and just posed but all creepily like:

That time Slappy Joe slapped Eubank down and got the Eubank glare not to mention a hard fight after:

The chin, the power, the determination, and the swag that is Eubank:

    ****ing love you mister Eubank

Interesting showman but I didn't like his lack of ambition or willingness to fight the absolute best from all over the world, there were a lot of great fighter at middle super middle weight in the early and mid 90s like Tony, Jones, Hopkins, Jackson, McLellan, McCallum and so on and he never fought any of them, he stayed more or less domestic his entire career.

I'm just getting into them tbh. It's one of those blind spots I skipped for years because having lived it I felt like I know it. I was young though and only know the most popular highlights.

Really watching Eubank has been a pleasure. It's too bad he didn't go for bigger things, even if he lost there is pride in fighting the best and being one of their most entertaining fights. I'm sure Eubank would have brought something.

He's my new favorite not the greatest of his era but pretty great boxer. I love weirdos It's half Wilder's appeal. ****ing Power Rangers bull****.

Everything about Chris Eubank is funny. Look at his weird pose while they touch gloves and as he stands in the corner waiting for the bell. Even better is his reaction to the knockdown. He's clearly wobbly and just grinning at Joe like a madman.

He's probably on the spectrum. Best autistic boxer I've seen(not meant to offend). That's the reason for all the "weird" behavior.

But yes he avoided almost all of the greats of his era. He was even worse than Roy Jones Jr. in that regard.

Many of them around the time did. Benn, Eubank, Jones Jr, Calzaghe, even Hopkins. They just didn't fight eachother in their primes.

Toney and others did fight many and I believe McClellan would have tried to fight them all if his career wasn't cut short.

You reckon I ought not be laughing? I took him as a character, playful and such. Honestly didn't even consider maybe he's got a real mental issue. Now I have to rethink everything about him including the theme of this thread.

Well I mean, I've seen many interviews of him stretching a long period of time. He would have dropped the 'act' at some point if it was an act but I don't think it is.

It shouldn't be that big of a deal though. I know some people on the spectrum and they got a good sense of humor. They're just 'off' in terms of social behavior. Eubank is high functioning.

He talked about that moment, I think it was London Real - he was surprised that he went down from the shot and in his mind he's thinking "very good, this WON'T be an easy fight like I thought".

Interesting factoid is that Eubank, more than almost everyone else Calslappy fought, gave Joe all he could handle in spite of that knockdown.
