Graham was robbed (repeatedly) against Gavilan. And if we are lookingat what Graham did best, Mayweather did it better: more refined and layered defense, better reflexes, perhaps even more one-punch power. On the other hand, Mayweather came of age in a very coddled era: 12 Rounds, 12 oz. gloves, trunks so high around the chest that Steve Urkel would blush.
I dunno who to pick. Floyd rebounded quite well from his scares against Castillo and Maidana to convincingly win the rematches. He edge De La Hoya. He schooled Canelo and Cotto. But you still get the impression that swarmers troubled him - and none of those men were in their prime. Even Judah troubled him. Rember that body shot!?
I feel the intangibles go to Gavilan. While I feel that Floyd could beat The Hawk after several outings. I don't think the Mayweather we've seen ever showed what it would take to beat Gavilan over 15 rounds.
But I am curious if others see it differently.
