Frank The Animal Fletcher vs. William Caveman Lee and John The Beast Mugabi

Nicknames were always good for promotions and capturing the attention of fans. Frank "The Animal" Fletcher, a MW contender from the early 80's was never in a dull fight. He wasn't as bad as his record would indicate, probably could have been better if he jabbed more and fought in a different era. But he was a small MW at 5'7" and he had a do or die style. Never made any adjustments but at least used some head movement and threw combinations.

Here he is in a TKO win over the Caveman.

Here is The Animal slugging his heart out while overmatched against a larger, stronger Beast Mugabi.

Ah Frank Fletcher. A fantastic television fighter back in the 80’s. Always guaranteed action.

The 80s defiantly had great nicknames for fighters. Today they are Swift, Hi-Tech, One-Time, Nail, Tank. Krusher is the only throw back.
