dk how you can look at a guy taking huge shots and act like he's not getting blasted just because he went out there on his toes and shot his wad early. bewster had a very solid chin and power. give him some credit. wlaidmir was a very beatable fighter by a man roughly of louis' size. that's irrefutable.



and i'm looking into it,a nd it seems that they switched to 8 oz some time in the 50's. louis was in a 6 oz glove, according again to what i'm reading, which i can't verify. marciano likely started off his career with a 6 oz glove, and finished with an 8.

history is well established as the place on bscene where the reasoned discussion takes place, and where the most knowledgable boxing people in the sport's history who use the bscene talk. you'll see facts, and then you'll see arguments explaining why the facts support or refute propositions.

History is subjecive ,just like Columbus being the lone guy to first discover America when he actually discovered south America as well as we were the first civilisation here with intelligence ......pure notions the differance here is actual VIDEO evidence we can go on, i can PROMISE you however it wouldn't be too smart if you are suggesting Louis over Wlad because Without the fellow historians here and without the hand cuffs on me in that section where no opinion is judged and facts are allowed to be compared it wont go so good for you!....my last post stands as is!

No Marciano or Joe Louis could have ever competed with ANY modern HW or CW.

They would have suffered a seriously bad fate against any Wladimir opponent let alone himself.

And it's not even close.

The skills AND the athleticism and the strength, all three of them were so abysmal by comparison it is not even worth comparing.

Juggernaut the guy you are trying to speak with, New England, is a 5th generation pedigree nut bag. He has never to my knowledge EVER made a realistic post in his time here and is contempt never to truly test his archaic ideas outside of his nut bag reserve here.

Your problem lil' elroid is that you NEVER had gloves on because if you needed to be TAUGHT to have respect means you were raised without dignity or resolve.

There's no doubt in my mind that lil' elroid and juggynutz were bullied by bigger boys when they were kids (a year ago) so that has imprinted on them that size is the most essential ingredient needed to be a successful heavyweight.
Size can be a very meaningful advantage but as your competition moves up in skill you need to advance in that department also. Wlad didn't need to advance that much after suffering devastating defeats because his competition era was so horrible! Where are his contenders now? Why aren't they a part of the heavyweight scene? Do they even fight anymore?

If you look at Wlads reactions to punches thrown you will see a tentative look that borders on panic! His oponents have NO work rate to speak of at all. Count the punches he throws and his opponents stand right in front of him just like the old Russian Olympic boxers did in the '60's.
Everyone talk about getting by a long jab from a 6'6" man. What happens when your by him? If you think Wlad can grab and hold against Marciano or Dempsey your crazy. High work rate fighters always have their chances because their working hard to win, not survive!

If you have ever received punches into the front your shoulder. floating rib and elbows repeatedly you'd understand why hard punchers wanted to hit you "anywhere"!
The second value is to see how your opponents balance is maintained along with his counter punch abilities.
Most fighters especially heavyweights today shy away from a high work rate as if their afraid of exchange. I can understand that if their chins aren't durable!

Of course if you've never been in the ring before it's difficult to comment with any integrity attached yet there are kids here who have an answer for everything even when its clear that they know NOTHING about the sport!
