Why was Marquez so easily handled by Mayweather?

Size wasn't that much of a factor, people are forgetting mayweather came off a 21 month lay off

Most people will say the size as if Mayweather is some big black beast when in reality there wasn't much difference in weight. Sure, Marquez was moving up in weight but when a fight is that one-sided it can't just be the size because....

For a start were not talking about a fight were Mayweather was leaning all over Marquez and wearing him down or a fight where Marquez was landing multiple shots which bounced of Mayweather.

It was a dick move to cheat JMM on the scales but size played no significant factor in this fight. Floyd was simply too fast and Marquez doesn't lead anywhere near as well as he counterpunches.

It's an absolute perfect style match up for Floyd.

Floyd is never going to lose at that pace, if you fight at his pace and box, he's going to dominate you.

Add the fact that Marquez struggles when he has to lead, and someone is countering him.

Then add in Floyd had every physical advantage.

Marquez wasn't pressing the whole fight. That's a myth. There were plenty of times where Marquez was backing up. Nothing worked for Marquez that night because he couldn't land anything significant if at all.

Mayweather is a much better boxer and made Juan be the bull while he was the matador..Juan is great when his for is aggressive but not when he has to lead..Floyd mind ****ed him

Floyd is a genius. That is the simple answer. No one will outbox him - he may be out brawled, but not out boxed.

He toyed with JMM using his far superior ring generalship, accuracy and ability to pick the gaps.

Style kryptonite combined with a better fighter. Marquez has always ****** against fighters who can make him lead that way. Totally hoses his timing. Norwood. Gainer. Even if he won, the fights were dreck. May weather could do those things and his speed meant he could whoop on him too. One of Floyd's most underrated wins.
